The Nissan Murano is almost due for a redesign, but it won’t get one for the 2022 model year. With an all-new, more rugged Pathfinder on sales lots, Nissan will keep the Murano 2-row midsize SUV virtually unchanged for at least one more year.
The Murano is known for premium styling at an affordable price and a standard 260-horsepower V6 with plenty of power to close holes in traffic. But its limited towing capacity, at 1,500 pounds, and somewhat lackluster continuously variable transmission (CVT) keep it near the bottom of our list of the Best Two-Row Midsize SUVs.
For 2022, the mid-priced Murano SV gains heated leatherette front seats. No other trim level gets any equipment changes.
But there is one new package. Again, it’s found only on the Murano SV. The Midnight Package adds a glossy black grille, black exterior trim pieces, black roof rails, and glossy black 20-inch wheels. A badge on the hatch and illuminated sill plates identify it as the Midnight Edition. It’s available in black, white, and gray.
Pricing:
Prices have gone up by between $100 and $510 depending on trim level – not an unreasonable increase in a time when supply chain problems mean many parts have grown more expensive. Nissan also requires a $1,175 destination charge on all SUVs.
