The Lexus LX is all-new for 2022, entering a new generation as the luxury brand’s flagship SUV. The new LX is more luxurious and high-tech than ever, and it’s a serious player among the big names in full-size luxury SUVs.
It competes with the likes of the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, but with the new 4-seat Ultra Luxury trim, this Lexus lifts its gaze toward the iconic Range Rover.
The LX 600 has a starting MSRP of $88,245, but the top Ultra Luxury model begins at $127,345. That’s not cheap, but it’s more affordable than a similarly equipped Range Rover.
The LX 600 Ultra Luxury is the pinnacle of Lexus luxury. Let’s take a look inside at some of the highlights of this opulent SUV.
Massaging Captain’s Chairs
Massaging front seats in flagship luxury sedans and SUVs are nothing new, but the LX 600 Ultra Luxury also has massaging rear seats. Curved headrests, seatbacks, and cushions cradle the passengers in comfort and help offset any bothersome lateral G-forces. These seats also recline up to 48 degrees so you can find your perfect posture. Riding in the back of the LX 600 Ultra Luxury is like flying first class.
Rear Seat Ottoman
Pro tip: Don’t call “shotgun” before going for a ride in the LX 600 Ultra Luxury. Instead, grab the right-rear passenger seat to take advantage of the footrest integrated into the back of the front passenger seat. With the front seat pushed forward, legroom expands to a roomy 43 inches. Recline your seat, put your feet up, and appreciate your good fortune.
Rear Control Panel
The large rear center console in the LX 600 Ultra Luxury has a high-tech control panel built-in. It puts all rear-seat controls at the passengers’ fingertips, like the controls for the power seats, rear entertainment system, climate control, and more. It’s more than just a fancy touchscreen; this console also has wireless charging, USB and headphone jacks, and cupholders that can turn into a small note table.
Rear Seat Entertainment
The rear entertainment system in the Lexus LX 600 Ultra Luxury is a lot nicer than one of those fold-down screens you’d find in a minivan. Both rear-seat passengers get their own 11.4-inch display. Two video sources can be viewed simultaneously, or they can play the same thing. An HDMI port is included for extra convenience.
Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound
The Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound premium audio system is standard on the LX 600 Ultra Luxury trim. It’s a 2,400-watt system with 25 speakers carefully placed throughout the cabin to create what Lexus calls a “three-dimensional soundscape.” The standard 10-speaker system in the LX 600 is good, but this Mark Levinson system takes audio quality to the next level.
