You won’t be surprised if we tell you something is going up in price, will you? It’s the story of 2022.
Amid inflation, supply chain problems, and rising costs to transport parts, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra are each getting their third price increase this year.
The Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 have each seen an $800 price increase at every trim level. That leaves the Chevy with a starting price of $36,395. The GMC now starts at $37,195.
Both trucks saw significant updates for the 2022 model year. The Silverado got a vastly improved interior that reviewers rave about and a new, off-road-focused ZR2 model. The Sierra, meanwhile, went more upscale. It received a similar cabin update, along with a new ultra-luxury Denali Ultimate trim and an off-road-oriented AT4X model.
Heavy Duty shoppers are even more out of luck. Every trim level of Silverado HD has seen a $1,000 price bump. Sierra HD shoppers are stuck with an even bigger bill increase, at $2,000.
Destination charges are also increasing – largely a function of the rising cost of diesel – by $100. That leaves all of the trucks with a $1,795 delivery fee – among the highest in the industry.
