In announcing that reservations are full for First Edition models of the 2021 Mustang Mach-E electric crossover, Ford also released some interesting early data from the online ordering process currently underway.

While Ford hasn’t revealed what that number actually is, we did learn at the recent LA show that the First Edition Mach-E would be capped at four digits, which means it should be no more than 9,999 units. For the record, the First Edition Mustang Mach E is available in only one configuration: as an all-wheel-drive model with the larger battery, which means it has 333 horsepower and a targeted EPA range of 270 miles.

Other Mach-E reservation data revealed by Ford:

–Carbonized Gray has proven to be the most popular color choice. Some 38 percent of buyers have chosen it, followed by Grabber Blue Metallic (35 percent) and Rapid Red (27 percent).

More than 80 percent of U.S. customers are reserving their Mach-E Mustang with the extended-range lithium-ion battery.

About 55 percent of Mustang Mach-E buyers have opted for all-wheel drive.

Almost 30 percent of U.S. customers are choosing the Mustang Mach-E GT model.

More than a quarter of all Mustang Mach-E reservations are coming from California.

Pre-orders continue for GT and Premium trims

Although reservations for the First Edition Mustang Mach-E are full, Ford says pre-orders continue to be taken for other models such as the Premium Edition and the GTThe rear-drive Premium Edition, when equipped with the extended-range battery and a 282-horsepower electric motor, has an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. An all-wheel-drive Mach-E Premium, with the 333horsepower motor and extended-range battery, has an estimated range of 270 milesWith the standard battery pack and a 255-horsepower motor, the Mach-E Premium Edition has a range of 230 miles (RWD) or 210 miles (AWD)

As for the Mustang Mach-E GTs, two will be available: the standard GT and the GT Performance Edition. Both AWD models have the extended-range battery, and both are expected to arrive in mid-2021 with an expected EPA range of 250 miles. The standard GT hits 60 mph in less than 4 seconds; the GT Performance Editionfitted with MagneRide shock absorbers, does it in 3.5.
