2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrak: Features, Tires, and Options

2021 Ford Bronco 2D Wildtrak

The Ford Bronco is a highly customizable SUV that you can tune to meet the needs of all types of truck shoppers. Luxury and tech features make the cabin a more comfortable – and connected – place to spend your time.

Then, there are models like the Bronco Wildtrak, which cater to people who spend much of their time on unpaved surfaces.

Whether you’re going to be traversing rugged and wide-open terrain or simply want a truck that looks the part, the Bronco Wildtrak lives up to its name. Thanks to the standard fitment of the Sasquatch off-road package, the Wildtrak’s flared fenders, bulbous tires, and square shape give it a ready-for-anything attitude.

Is this enough to take on established rivals like the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado, and even Ford’s own Ranger pickup truck? Time will tell but, based on the Bronco’s available features, this SUV has the hardware to take on a wide range of competitors.

Bronco Wildtrak Price and Details

Except for the 2021-only First Edition, the Ford Bronco Wildtrak sits at the top of the seven available trim levels. Ordered in 2-door format, the price starts at $46,980.

The roomier 4-door version is more expensive, with an entry price is $49,475 (excluding any options or destination fee), but more accommodating for adults in the second row.

That’s a lot of money for a vehicle intended to drive across boulders and through the worst Mother Nature can deliver. What the Wildtrak offers in return is the Bronco’s most powerful engine, along with the standard fitment of the Bronco’s toughest off-road equipment.

Engine

Powering the Wildtrak is a turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that delivers 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This motor comes with a 10-speed automatic, and, like all Broncos, 4-wheel drive is standard. The Wildtrak gets an upgraded variant of 4WD that includes automatic on-demand engagement (2H, 4H, 4A, 4L), Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, and Trail One-Pedal Driving. The latter feature acts like an off-road cruise control — the brakes engage whenever the driver eases off the gas pedal.

Towing Capacity

When equipped with the Towing Capability package, the Bronco’s maximum tow rating is 3,500 lbs. – in either 2-door or 4-door format.

Dimensions

The 2021 Bronco Wildtrak 2-door is 174 inches long, 76 inches wide, and 72 inches high. As you’d expect, the 4-door Bronco is slightly longer. It rides on a 116-inch wheelbase, which is 16 inches longer than the one underpinning the 2-door and measures 189 inches in length.

Wildtrak Standard and Optional Features

As one of the highest trim levels, the Bronco Wildtrak comes with an extensive lineup of comfort, performance, tech, and safety items.

Standard features include a manual 150-degree swing tailgate, flip-up rear glass, molded-in-color hardtop (2-door and 4-door), Wildtrak hood graphic, push-button start, remote start, 8-inch digital instrument panel, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped gear knob, and 7 driving modes in the driver-selectable G.O.A.T (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) system. The added drive mode in the Wildtrak is geared specifically for desert dune driving.

An 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Amazon Alexa compatibility, comprises the base infotainment setup. Optional is a 12-inch touchscreen, along with upgraded voice controls and pinch-to-zoom navigation.

What really sets the Wildtrak apart is the standard fitment of the Sasquatch Package. This includes 17-inch gloss black-painted and beadlock-capable alloy wheels, an upgraded on-demand 4-wheel-drive system, Bilstein monotube shocks, wide fender flares, higher suspension, 4.7:1 final drive ratio, and 315/70R17 Mud-Terrain (35-inch) tires.

Two main option groups are available, the High Package and Lux Package. Among other items, these consist of the upgraded 12-inch touchscreen, LED spotlight, side-mirror LED approach lights, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, wireless device charging, navigation, heated steering wheel, and more.
