  • Coupe and sedan styling updated
  • Revised drive ratios boost acceleration
  • Honda Sensing assists now standard
  • Priced from $25,000 plus $930 delivery

Honda has introduced a refreshed 2020 Honda Civic Si, the performance-enhanced model that sits between the standard Civic and the hot hatch Type R. Offered in both sedan and coupe body styles, the upgraded Civic will start at $25,000 plus $930 delivery when it goes on sale Sept. 6.

Enhanced looks

The exterior changes include new front and rear fascia panels that give the new Civic Si a more aggressive look. Gloss black surrounds are used on the lower bumper fog light housings which also incorporate a new body-color crossbar and new LED fog lights. The grille has been updated with a new wing-shaped crossbar and the headlamps are now multi-element LED units.

At the rear, there is new lower bumper treatment that blends gloss black surrounds and body-color elements to match the changes up front.  Civic Si models have new 18-inch wheels with all-season performance tires, while summer tires are a $200 option.

Interior changes

The sport seats have been upgraded and now feature red accents on the seat bottom and back. Red trim is also used to highlight the instrument panel. These changes are on top of improvements made last year that added a volume knob and other controls to the Display Audio system.

The 2020 Honda Civic Si features Honda Sensing as standard equipment. This suite of assists includes automatic high beams, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and collision mitigation braking.

The Honda Civic Si features a 205-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 192 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard. Honda says it has shortened the drive ratio by 6 percent to improve acceleration feel. Both the Civic Si Coupe and Sedan models start at $25,000.
