- Ranger set to bow later this year
- Four trim levels offered
- Base models start at $25,395
Ford has released pricing for its midsize 2019 Ford Ranger pickup truck, with pricing that is competitive against segment rivals like the Toyota Tacoma and higher than the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Last sold in 2011, the new Ranger will come in three trim levels, XL, XLT and Lariat, two cab configurations (2-door SuperCab and 4-door SuperCrew) and rear- or 4-wheel drive, when it goes on sale early next year.
According to the 2019 Ford Ranger vehicle configurator, the base XL SuperCab with a 6-foot box is priced from $25,395 including delivery. Tacoma starts at $25,400 for 2018 models, while the Ranger starts at $25,395 including delivery. The base 2018 Colorado is about $4,500 less, while the lowest priced 2018 GMC Canyon starts at just over $22,000.

Top model over $40,000
The XL SuperCrew with rear-drive and a 5-foot box is priced from $27,615, while at the top of the range, a Lariat SuperCrew with 4-wheel drive carries an MSRP of $39,480. Adding the $1,295 FX4 off-road package pushes that price over the $40,000 level. All prices include destination and are for rear-drive models. Rangers equipped with 4-wheel drive are priced about $4,000 more across the board. SuperCrew models cost about $2,200-$2,300 more than SuperCab models.
All Rangers will be equipped with a 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The powertrain also features a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment. In announcing the pricing, Ford opened up the order books on the 2019 Ford Ranger.
