UPDATE: We’ve now driven the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado

Pricing on the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has been announced, with the LT model offering better fuel economy and capability at an MSRP that is up to $700 less than the model it replaces. The biggest change in the LT, which starts at $38,395, is the shift to a turbocharged 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine from a standard 4.3-liter V6.
Chevy says the new 4-cylinder offers 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque, is more fuel efficient and comes equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 4.3-liter V6 is rated at 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque and will continue to be offered as standard equipment for the Work Truck, Custom and Custom Trail Boss. The regular cab long bed Work Truck starts at $29,795; while the double cab standard bed Work Truck is priced at $33,695. The Custom begins at $36,095 for a standard bed double cab, and the Custom Trail Boss, a 4×4 double cab standard bed is priced from $40,995. These models can also be equipped with an optional 355-horspower 5.3-liter V8. Crew cab short bed models are $2,400 more.

“For more than 100 years, Chevrolet has developed a reputation for building trucks that offer incredible performance, capability and value,” said Brian Sweeney, Chevrolet’s U.S. vice president. “The next-gen Silverado continues that tradition – offering more interior and cargo room, higher towing and payload capabilities and a lower starting price on our highest volume model.”
V8 models first
The first models available when the vehicle bows this fall will be the 5.3-liter V8 equipped with an 8-speed automatic and the 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 with a 10-speed automatic. The V6 and turbo 4-cylinder will be next, while the launch date of the 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbodiesel will be announced later, along with its specifications and pricing.

Above the LT trim, pricing starts at $40,295 for the RST; $47,395 for the 4×4 only LT Trail Boss, and $44,495 for the LTZ. All these models are double cab standard bed configurations, with the crew cab short bed $2,400 more. The flagship High Country model, which is offered only as a crew cab short bed is priced from $54,495. The High Country model, which includes new features like push-button start, start-stop technology, lane change alert, side blind zone alert, an advanced trailering system, enhanced LED exterior lighting and a power up/down tailgate sees an increase in MSRP of only $1,000. All pricing includes destination fees.
