Making its debut in Chicago, the 2018 Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport brings a bit of enthusiast appeal to the automaker’s largest SUV as part of a mid-cycle refresh that spans the entire Sequoia lineup. Arriving in showrooms this September and available on all Sequoia 4×2 and 4×4 models, the TRD Sport remix centers on a set of custom-tuned Bilstein shocks and new TRD front/rear anti-sway bars that collectively promise to enhance this big SUV’s handling and cornering confidence.

Whether finished in Super White, Magnetic Gray or a new Midnight Black the Sequoia TRD Sport comes with a bespoke grille and front fascia, 20-inch black alloy wheels, gloss-black mirror caps, smoked taillamp lenses and the requisite TRD Sport badging. Inside, this newest Sequoia features a black cloth interior and seating for seven as well as a TRD shift knob, floor mats and door sill protectors. Slotting between the SR5 and Limited, it also will offer leather upholstery, Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation, power front seats, reclining/fold-flat third-row seating and more as part of an SR5-style Premium Package.

While all 2018 Sequoias will carry on with the current 5.7-liter i-Force V8 backed by a 6-speed automatic transmission, Toyota has made meaningful changes to the existing SR5, Limited and Platinum as well as the new TRD Sport. All now boast standard LED headlamps, DRLs and fog lamps along with individualized grille inserts and accent elements to complement several new exterior color choices. Inside, cabin revisions include new trim, a restyled console, revamped instrument cluster and a new Multi-information Display. On the driver-assist front, all 2018 Sequoia models bolster the existing Toyota Star Safety System with the more advanced Toyota Safety System (TSS-P) suite of proactive technologies that include Lane Departure Alert, Pedestrian Detection, Auto High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Pricing for the 2018 Toyota Sequoia lineup will be released closer to its on-sale date.
