2018 Maserati Gran Turismo Revealed

The redesigned 2018 Maserati GranTurismo was revealed today on Wall Street, as company CEO Reid Bigland rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Slated to go on sale later this year, it is the first major revamp of the vehicle since its introduction 10 years ago.

The redesigned GranTurismo will feature two variants, Sport and MC (for Maserati Corse), the latter of which was shown in New York. Both models will be powered by a 454-horsepower 4.7-liter V8 engine mated to a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission. Performance is up, with the GranTurismo Sport accelerating from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 185 mph, while the lighter track-oriented MC is a tenth of a second quicker to 62 and tops out at 186 mph.

The new look of the GranTurismo was inspired by the Alfieri concept and resulted in a pronounced shark-like nose with a hexagonal grille. New, lower air ducts give the car a more aggressive look and improve airflow and reduces aerodynamic drag. The rear of the car has also been restyled with a tidier look and two different treatments for Sport and MC models.

The 4-passenger cabin features individual bucket seats clad in Poltrona Frau leather upholstery. Other interior upgrades include a new, high resolution 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a redesigned center console with a new double rotary knob trimmed in forged aluminum.
