Karma, a maker of luxury plug-in hybrid vehicles, has introduced a limited-edition model of which only 15 will be produced. The 2018 Karma Revero Aliso features a tailored interior featuring upscale accents and upholstery and is designed to showcase the personalization abilities of the automaker.
Originally launched as the Fisker Karma, the company was brought out of bankruptcy by the current ownership and is building the plug-in hybrid electric luxury sedans in a new factory in Moreno, Calif. The sedan has a 20.8 kWh lithium ion battery pack capable of delivering up to 50 miles of pure EV range and uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine to generate power for the rear-drive vehicle’s two electric motors that deliver 406 horsepower. Karma says its battery pack can be recharged in 24 minutes using DC charging and 3 hours with a Level 2 setup.
Interior upgrades
Sporting the Aliso name on badges and headrest embroidery, the Aliso has unique platinum and red wood burl accents and the ceramic colored leather upholstery sourced from Scotland’s Bridge of Weir, one of the oldest family-owned concern of its type. The exterior is painted a unique Laguna Pearl hue and the car is fitted with black CarboTec wheels and Brembo brake calipers in dark metallic orange.
“Our Aliso Edition is an example of what ‘custom’ can mean for Karma,” says Karma Automotive’s CEO Dr. Lance Zhou. “It’s a specially-crafted luxury electric vehicle for a very select few who seek a truly unique product, and something we believe can be a model for how Karma approaches other unique custom editions and contribute to the sales growth of the company.”
The 15 2018 Karma Revero Aliso models will be delivered during November and December and are priced at $145,000, a $15,000 premium over the standard Revero.
