Three weeks after offering an initial sneak peek at its new 2018 XF Sportbrake, Jaguar has released several new shots of this primo grand touring wagon along with news that it will be formally unveiled on June 14th by Andy Murray, the world’s top-rated male tennis player. As reported previously, the XF Sportbrake will then be on hand throughout The Championships at Wimbledon 2017 that runs from July 3-16, an event for which Jaguar is the official car partner.

This prototype version of Jag’s new XF Sportbrake was photographed as it drove to the Bunabhainneadar Tennis Court on the Scottish island of North Harris, billed as the world’s most remote tennis facility. Although covered in a distinctive tennis ball wrap, it’s clear this striking estate car retains the same basic design cues as the XF Sedan from the B-pillar forward but boasts its own flowing roofline and rear quarters. Built on the same aluminum-intensive architecture as its Sedan sibling, the new Sportbrake also is expected to share the same 180-horsepower/2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel and 340- or 380-horse gasoline-fueled Supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engines backed by an 8-speed automatic transmission.
