Aston Martin will display four Zagato-designed limited-edition Vanquish variants at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. In addition to the Vanquish Zagato Coupe that’s already in production, the presentation will include the world debut of the drop-top Vanquish Zagato Volante along with the first-ever showing of the Vanquish Zagato Speedster and Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake slated to go into production next year.

All of these Zagato family members feature carbon fiber bodywork and based on the V12 Vantage S, which is powered by a 5.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 that makes 580 horses in U.S. trim and 592 abroad. A total of 325 vehicles will be produced, 99 each of the Coupe and Volante, 28 of the Speedster and 99 of the Shooting Brake. Save for the rakish 2-seat wagon, all are spoken for.
Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, notes the firm could have upped the build numbers significantly on all of these vehicles, but “we want Zagato to remain something very special. We’re creating collectibles, future Concours cars.” Andrea Zagato, CEO of Zagato echoed those sentiments, saying of his firm’s 60-year relationship with Aston, “My family name is associated with all kinds of wonderful designs, but for many enthusiasts and collectors around the world those that combine the Z of Zagato with the wings of Aston Martin are the most special.”

The new Vanquish Zagato Volante shares much of the Zagato Coupe’s design influences but in a drop-top configuration while the Zagato Speedster serves up an even more radical take on the al fresco theme. The bolder detailing includes a lower profile windscreen and carbon fiber buttresses that recall Zagato’s signature “double-bubble” roof contouring introduced in the 1950’s to allow helmet clearance on many of its racing-spec coupes. The Shooting Brake boasts its own expressive character. However, this personal performance GT embraces a more practical approach to motoring and includes features like a power liftgate and matching fitted luggage.
