Due in showrooms later this year, the production 2017 Toyota C-HR gets its global debut in production form at the Geneva Auto Show. While hardly definitive, this early teaser image hints the volume-build version will stay fairly close to the radical styling evidenced when the car first appeared as the C-HR Concept at the 2014 Paris Auto Show and subsequently in Scion C-HR Concept guise last fall in Los Angeles prior to that division being folded back into the Toyota family.

Toyota has said little about this new subcompact crossover, other than it is based on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform which was introduced on the completely redesigned 2016 Prius. In addition to a conventional powertrain, the 2017 Toyota C-HR also is almost certain to offer the latest and more efficient version of the company’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system, which also debuted in the new Prius.
