Headed to showrooms later this month, the 2017 Toyota 86 860 Special Edition raises the profile and bolsters the features of this rear-drive sport coupe with a value-focused, limited-run option package. Available in two colors: an exclusive Supernova Orange and Halo White, the 860 Special Edition will be limited to 860 of each shade.

All 860 Special Edition models will come with LED fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, a black-finish rear spoiler and heated exterior mirrors plus black body stripes. The option also includes functional underbody aero fairings. Inside the 860 Special Edition has heated front seats covered in black leather with orange contrast stitching, dual-zone climate control and a 4.2-inch driver info display that features a G-force meter and stop watch. It also has readouts for instantaneous power, torque, oil/water temps and mpg. These coupes have Smart Key with push-button start and touch-activated door unlock as well as an 860 Special Edition plaque on the center console.

Pricing for the 2017 Toyota 86 860 Special Edition opens at $30,040 when fitted with the 6-speed manual transmission and $30,760 with an optional 6-speed automatic. As with the standard 2017 Toyota 86, the automatic trims horsepower from 205 to 200 and drops torque from 156 to 151 lb-ft. For the record, the limited edition package represents a $2,900 bump for a vehicle that began life as the Scion FR-S prior to Toyota’s decision to fold its value-oriented youth-focused division.
