Porsche announced the 2017 Cayenne and Cayenne S E-Hybrid models will be available for a limited time in new Platinum Edition guise. Adding a bit of visual flash as well as functional charm, the Platinum Edition models will go on sale here later this year along with the rest of the Cayenne family.

The most obvious changes to both Platinum Editions are a selection of gloss black exterior accents and a 20-inch wheel/tire package that brings RS Spyder alloys housed in extended fender arches that can be rendered in black or body color. Bi-Xenon headlamps with the Porsche Dynamic Light System and rear privacy glass, anti-glare side mirrors and front/rear ParkAssist also are part of the Platinum Edition kit as is the choice of solid black and white paint finishes. Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White and Rhodium Silver metallic paints are offered as options.

Inside, Cayenne Platinum Editions feature leather seats with Alcantara inserts and 8-way power for the sport-spec front buckets. They also come with the latest iteration of the Porsche Communication Management system that includes navigation, the Connect Plus module and a Bose Surround Sound audio system as well as stainless steel door sills with illuminated "Platinum Edition" lettering. Buyers seeking to travel a greener route will find the plug-in Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition model also boasts an auxiliary cabin pre-conditioning system that allows the passenger compartment to be heated or cooled prior to setting off on any journey.
Powered by a 300-horse naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6, the 2017 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition will open at $66,650 while the 416-horse gas/electric 2017 Cayenne S E-Hybrid is set to start at $82,650.
