Chevrolet announced a new Redline Special Edition series at the Chicago show. Borrowing a name that first appeared on a selection of concept vehicles presented at the 2015 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, Chevy’s production Redline offerings will encompass nine vehicle lines, more than any previous special edition group ever offered by the division.

“Redline is another example of Chevrolet bringing SEMA concepts to showrooms,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet. “The SEMA Show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models. Based on the strong interest Redline attracted at the show, we believe they will be very popular with customers looking for standout cars, trucks, and crossovers.”
Broad selection
The Redline Special Editions will be available on the Chevrolet Camaro LT/SS coupe and convertible, Chevrolet Cruze LT sedan and hatchback, Malibu LT, Trax LT, Equinox LT, Traverse Premier and Colorado LT as well as the Silverado Double Cab LT Z71 and Crew Cab LTZ Z71 models. Chevy plans a cadenced rollout of these new Redline models that will continue on until the end of 2017. First to arrive in showrooms will be the Silverado Redline models, which can be ordered now.

All Redline Special Editions will share a number of common visual cues including black-finished alloy wheels with signature red hash marks, a blackout grille, black Chevy Bowtie logos and a red outline accent on their individual black-finish name badges. From there, each adds a selection of unique touches, with the Camaro Redline sporting things like motorsport-inspired black hash marks on its fenders above the wheels and the Silverado and Colorado gaining red tow hooks. More information on all of the new Chevrolet Redline Special Editions will be released in the weeks ahead.
