The 2016 Kia K900 sedan lineup has been revamped to broaden its appeal with a V6 and a lower MSRP. The new base engine complements the V8 that continues in the top-line version of Kia‘s flagship sedan, while all models have been freshened and offer more standard equipment.

The new-for-2016 K900 Premium V6 and Luxury V6 models share a 3.8-liter direct-injected engine also found in the Hyundai Genesis. In Kia trim, it makes 311 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque compared to the 420/376 output specs of the carryover engine in the K900 Luxury V8. In either case, that force heads to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior updates to all 2016 K900 variants include a restyled grille and several changes to the rear, including new bumper, taillamp and exhaust tips plus more chrome. Rounding things out are new alloys wheels — 18-inch for the V6s and 19-inch for the V8. Inside, the K900 gains an upgraded navigation system with a new 9.2-inch high-def touchscreen and premium audio that also includes an embedded modem to support enhanced UVO Luxury Services. Steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles are now standard on all Luxury models.

As for bottom line impact, the addition of V6 power brings a new level of affordability to the K900 line. The 2016 Premium V6 opens at $49,950, which is $6,350 less than its 2015 V8 moe3l and at $55,850, the Luxury V6 is about $5,000 lower than the V8, which stickers at $62,850. The 2016 Kia K900 lineup will arrive at select dealers soon.
