Presented at the Houston Auto Show, the 2016 GMC All Terrain X special edition adds extra off-road chic and capability to the division’s popular full-size pickup. Arriving in showrooms this spring, the new X variant is based on the 2016 Sierra 1500 SLT 4WD crew cab/short box that already includes a Z71 Off-Road suspension, Eaton locking rear differential, rear park assist, spray-in bedliner, inclinometer and distinctive exterior graphics. The limited-run X-spec adds 265/65 Mud-Terrain-rated Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac MT tires on black-finish 18 x 8.5-inch aluminum wheels, black exterior mirrors, belt moldings, B-pillars and Sport side steps along with a black bed-mounted support bar that carries the accessory off-road LED lighting package.

The distinctive ebony enhancements are set of with body-color door handles and side moldings that match the Onyx Black, Summit White, Stone Blue Metallic, Iridium Metallic, Crimson Red Tintcoat and Light Steel Gray Metallic exterior choices available. A throaty performance exhaust system bumps pony count of the All Terrain’s 5.3-liter V8 from 255 to 265 while the cabin gains bespoke interior floor liners. Pricing for the 2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X will be announced closer to its actual on-sale date.
