Paying tribute to baseball’s world champion Kansas City Royals, Ford has created 2016 Ford F-150 MVP Edition in a limited run of 300. Based on an F-150 Crew Cab which is manufactured at the automaker’s Kansas City assembly plant, the MVP Editions will be offered in the team’s colors of Blue Flame or Oxford White and feature polished stainless steel rocker panels, a spray-in bedliner and special MVP badging. Ford notes the MVP kit will be installed at the facility’s SubTropolis underground business complex, where custom accessories are fitted to vehicles in an energy-efficient cave system.

The idea of an MVP Edition came from a loyal Royals fan and marks the second time Ford has produced a tribute truck for Kansas City. The first was a 1986 Ranger pickup done to celebrate the team’s victory in the 1985 World Series. Two Royal’s star pitchers will be used to promote the new F-150 MVP Edition, Bret Saberhagen, from the 1985 squad and Salvador Pérez from the 2015 Kansas City team. Pricing for the 2016 Ford F-150 MVP Edition will start “in the mid-$40’s” depending on options.
