2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution lives on

Missing in action from most other world markets, the 2015 Mitsubishi Evolution X will be back for one more season here in the U.S. with both the Evo GSR and range-topping Evo MR gaining more standard and optional features. Both models add heated side mirrors with turn indicators and a redesigned cupholder, with the MR also getting rain-sensing wipers, auto on/off headlamps, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, FAST-Key entry, minor exterior/interior trim tweaks, additional sound deadener and a 9-speaker/710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium audio system. The 2015 Evo GSR offers a new Premium Package that includes the existing Sight and Sound Package (HID headlamps, Rockford Fosgate audio and FAST-Key) plus leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power glass sunroof, added sound deadener and Piano Black cabin trim.

Same powertrain

No changes to the powertrain of either of these hot, all-wheel-drive sedans. Both share the same 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC 4-cylinder engine that makes 291 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque with the GSR getting a 5-speed manual transmission and the MR featuring Mitsu’s 6-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (TC-SST) that has Normal, Sport and S-Sport modes. Also common is the rally-derived Super All-Wheel control (S-AWC) system that bolsters the performance-tuned suspension with Active Yaw Control an Active Center Differential Active Stability Control and Sport Anti-lock Braking courtesy of competition-spec Brembo binders. 

The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution lineup will arrive in dealers this fall. Pricing for the Evo GSR and Evo MR will be released closer to their actual on-sale dates.
