As we reported last month, Kia will launch a new flagship luxury sedan in America next year. The automaker has now confirmed that this range-topping 4-door will have its formal unveiling next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show and go on sale sometime next year as the 2015 Kia K900. Positioned beyond the automaker’s recently introduced Cadenza, the new Kia K900 will be a U.S.-spec version of Kia‘s domestic-market K9 sedan, which is called the Quoris outside of Korea. It’s believed the starting price for this super-premium full-size rear-drive model will be somewhere in the $50,000-$60,000 range.

Kia provided no additional information about its newest offering, but like its K9 alter-ego, the new K900 will share of good deal of its basic platform architecture with the Hyundai Equus. Riding on a 119.9-inch wheelbase, the home-market K9 comes with a mega-load of features from leather upholstery, a head-up display and an adaptive air suspension to corner-following LED headlamps, radar-based Blind-Spot Detection/Lane Departure Warning and adaptive cruise control. Most, if not all, are expected to turn up on the K900. Although U.S. powertrain choices remain uncertain, it’s believed the K900 will be offered here with the 3.8-liter V6 used in the Cadenza and 5.0-liter Tau V8 from the Hyundal Equus, each teamed with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
