Adding one more cool rent-a-ride to its existing enthusiast-oriented Adrenaline Collection, Hertz has teamed with Penske Racing — an organization it currently sponsors in various NASCAR series — to create the 2014 Hertz Penske Ford Mustang GT. Finished in black with a Hertz-yellow racing stripe, this limited-edition vehicle further punctuates its bad-boy attitude with a Boss 302 front splitter, the rear lower valence panel from a Shelby GT500, Hertz faux gas cap and a custom graphics kit.

While no output figures were stated for the car’s 5.0-liter V8 that makes 420 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque in its standard configuration, the Hertz Penske GT variant does feature a retuned air intake and electronic control unit plus a deeper 3.55:1 rear axle gear — all of which promise additional quickness. Rounding out the go-faster/stop-better mix are a tauter sport suspension package and upgraded Brembo brakes.
Inside, the new 2014 Hertz Penske GT packs black Recaro racing seats, a Laguna Seca gauge pod, Limited Edition interior dash and engine bay plaques, the SYNC/MyFord Touch Entertainment System with GPS, a back-up camera plus unique floor mats and door-sill plates.

This latest performance-oriented vehicle from the Hertz stable carries on a tradition that began back in 1966 with the original and now legendary Hertz Shelby GT350H Rent-A-Racer. Today, this slightly-less-overt successor is part of a group the firm has dubbed its "Adrenaline Collection," a cadre that also includes the Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe and Convertible, Corvette Convertible, Dodge Challenger R/T and the Ford Mustang 5.0 GT Premium. All are available to rent at select Hertz airport lots across the U.S.
