Offering an extra bit of factory-direct edge, the 2014 Dodge Durango Blacktop Appearance Package has bowed. This cosmetic upgrade will be available on SXT, Limited and R/T versions of the three-row Durango, which already benefitted from a major revamping program for 2014. It will be the seventh Dodge model to receive a Blacktop treatment when it arrives in showrooms this October, joining the Avenger, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Journey and Grand Caravan.

Whether fitted with the 295-horsepower/3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or 360-horse/5.7-liter Hemi V8, the Durango’s Blacktop Appearance Package includes a Gloss Black finish on the crosshair grille/surround, side mirrors, and exterior badging as well as black headlamp bezels, body-color fascia/moldings plus bright finishers on the dual exhaust outlets. It also brings a set of 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels. Stepping up to a Durango Limited adds HID headlamps and LED daytime running lights while exterior color choices on all trims include Billet Silver, Bright White, Brilliant Black, Granite Crystal and Redline Red.

The Blacktop Appearance Package will add $1,590 to the price of a 2014 Dodge Durango SXT model, which starts at $30,990 and $1,990 to the base sticker of a Durango Limited that opens at $37,490. Going the Blacktop Appearance route on a Durango R/T will add a mere $295 to its $40,290 price of entry. While Dodge has yet to confirm the new Blacktop Appearance Package will carry forward to the 2015 Durango that goes on sale later in the year, we expect to see it make that transition with few if any changes.
