2014 Chevrolet Silverado Texas Edition debuts

2014 Chevrolet Silverado Texas Edition

It’s no secret that residents of the Lone Star State are huge fans of the big-pickup genre. In fact, buyers there currently snap up one out of every six full-size work/play haulers sold each year in the U.S. To appropriately recognize that fact, Chevrolet has just introduced the new 2014 Silverado Texas Edition, a custom equipment group that adds visual distinction as well as enhanced functionality, suitably topped with a selection of "Texas Edition" badges.

Offered as a package on either the 2014 Silverado LT with a 285-horsepower/4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 or off-road ready Silverado LT Z71 with a 335-horse/5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8, both Texas Editions include a trailering package, locking rear differential and 20-inch alloy wheels – polished on the LT and chrome on the LT Z71. Upgraded body-color mirror caps and door handles on the LT are replaced by chrome alternatives on the higher-end model, which also gains a Bose premium audio package. Save for the bespoke badges that will only be affixed to Silverados actually sold in Texas, the same kit can be had by customers in the other 49 states as the Custom Sport package, which will mirror pricing on the Texas Edition. Depending on existing equipment levels, the packages will command between $1,895 and $2,165 beyond the price of the truck.
