Positive Review
By far the best vehicle purchase I have ever made. Most of my car purchases were brand new and keep them at least 10 years. I was a bit concerned buying a first year edition, but Cadillac got it right on the XT6. Highly recommend.
Critical Review
There is a more Capable, more Refined, more Luxurious, more Comfortable, Better Executed, Higher Quality Mid-size SUV: Lincoln Aviator! I consider myself a very educated and conscientious vehicle shopper. I will also admit that I've been a very loyal GM customer, having purchased 13 new GM vehicles within our household over the past 30 years. I’ve been actively researching a purchase of a Mid-Size Luxury SUV for the past year. When GM announced the production of the Cadillac XT6, I was waiting with baited breath to learn more and tests drive this “NEW” model. When I finally had the opportunity to drive the XT6, I was immediately left with serious concerns and disappointment. Having test driven the new 2020 Lincoln Aviator prior to the XT6 may have influenced my opinion of the Cadillac prematurely; so I thought. However, as I took careful time to seriously compare of these two American Luxury brands, I felt compelled to turn away from the Cadillac XT6 and pursue a purchase of the Lincoln Aviator. Let it be known that my reason from turning away from GM wasn’t because of any negative experiences with previous GM products! Simply stated, I've become increasingly frustrated with GMs failure to seriously differentiate its product lineup to include Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac. With the exception of some simple exterior/interior cues, GM still insists on sharing one common parts-bin amongst all of its product divisions. From the powertrains to the dashboards, all GM divisions share way too much in common. Additionally, the exterior and interior appearances are lackluster and appear very "dated". The issues that these GM models face can no longer justify the significant difference in pricing that they command. GM has lost its ability to “wow” me with its “new” lineups. Specifically, my comparison of the XT6 and the Aviator allowed me to undeniably conclude that these two vehicles are Not Even Close in many aspects. If anyone has completed simple research, they cannot deny the facts. It is clear that GM demonstrates some serious neglect in the XT6 engineering by fast-tracking its development. As a result, the XT6 became a stretched version of the XT5, which limited its development, therefore forcing comprises in function and performance. Indeed, the XT6 it attractive and functional, however, for five distinct reasons I predict that the XT6 will remain out of reach of the Lincoln Aviator in sales and owner satisfaction. These five keys areas are: Use of C1XX platform (stretched version of XT5); Front wheel drive; Use of 3.6L V6 (LGX) naturally aspirated Engine; No option of a Hybrid variant powertrain; A base MSRP that is within $2K of the Aviator. Regardless of these major points, when considering the XT6, you are simply looking at a well-dressed and rebadged Enclave, Traverse or Acadia that present with the simplest differences in grills, tailgates and dashboards. In sharp contrast, the new Lincoln Aviator is a truly redesigned luxury vehicle that cannot be mistaken for the 2020 Ford Explorer which shares the same platform. Lincoln did some serious homework and accomplished some serious engineering goals. Not only has Lincoln separated itself brilliantly from its Ford brethren, but it truly put a lot of distance between itself and the Cadillac XT6, as well as every other foreign competitor in the same Class. The Aviator's exterior stance and interior quality have been far better executed. The Twin-Turbocharged 400 HP V-6 engine, rear wheel drive and AWD demonstrate unmatchable performance and are simply enough to make it a much better value than the XT6. It is obvious that the Aviator was meticulously designed from bottom up. Although the Cadillac XT6 has its strengths, as a loyal GM customer for decades, I must regretfully admit that it still falls short in nearly every measure when compared to most other Mid-size Luxury SUVs in the same class. It is disappointing that the XT6 was conceived which such limited time and resources. I truly believe that it would be a regretful mistake to purchase a Cadillac XT6 without first exploring the Lincoln Aviator! With my opinion aside, only future sales will definitively dictate who will come out ahead. Do your own research and buy wisely!

Features and smooth ride
None so far
I bought this 23 Cadillac XT6 a few weeks ago for my wife and and she is very pleased. She loves the look of it, the features and it rides very smooth.
Bose radio, park assist, automatic wipers, technology package, automatic headlights side night turning lights.
No cargo shade, not much cargo room, small front console
The XT6 Premium Luxury is the first Cadillac I have ever owned. I bought it because of the name Cadillac and the smaller vehicle with the 3rd row seat for my grandkids to all go with me. Never thought I’d like it as much as I do. Love the automatic wipers, the technology package, automatic headlights, and the little light that comes on at night when you are making a turn. It lights up the side you are turning into. Helps see what is there so you don’t hit it. It has too many helpful features to mention. The color is the prettiest white that shimmers in the sunlight. So far I haven’t had any issues with it. It is so comfortable and quiet. It drives like a dream. I love it.
Looks great
Poor performance
I purchased my 2022 Cadillac XT6 used about a year ago with only 16,000.00 miles on it. It immediately started having issues on the interstate and at times seemed like it was going to stall on me. I have had it at the dealership 3 times and because it does not show any codes they dismiss my concerns. I have always bought Nissan products and l decided to try the XT6 because I liked the look of it. I should have stayed with Nissans. I would trade but the car has really lost its value in a years time. I guess I will continue to drive it with it struggling to go up hills, accelerate and overall a terrible driving SUV. The steering makes noises at times as well.
Cost of maintenance
Cheap looking interior materials
I've owned my 2022 xt6 premium luxury for 1 1/2 years now. The pluses out weigh the minuses. No vehicle is prefect, after a few minor adjustments my xt6 has been excellent. I will start with some negatives the interior could diffinately be more plush for this price, armrest and center console feel cheap. The dashboard is simple and lacks any imagination a two yr old could have designed it, but these are things I knew about prior to purchase. The pluses, after having owned bmws and lexuses not having to use premium gas is a big plus, my oil changes and maintenance in general are alot cheaper. To me this is one of if the best looking midsize luxury suvs on the market. I have also owned cadillac s before and expect to get 200,000 + miles without any major problems. Yes I am happy with my purchase and will be open and honest with my future reviews as well.
uses regular gas, is roomy and exterior styling
lack of imagination of interior styling
I have owned or driven many car brands over the 48 years of driving experience i have. After researching many vehicles I purchased a 2022 cadillac premium luxury xt6 in April of 2022. Love the exterior styling, however the interior leaves a lot to be desired. Seems as though no imagination was used at all, compared to other suvs in this class. Which i was aware of, but with that being the only negative i bought it anyway. Quick list of some poistives, vehicle uses regular gas instead of permium (a dollar difference at some stations) which all of the foreign vehicles use - maintenance is much cheaper- has a better warranty than the others except for kia and hyundai. Has i said in the beginning i have driven many vehicles and they all have faults. The Cadillac brand is just has reliable has any brand made in my opinion. After owning my xt6 for 9 months now I have no complaints at all.
Balance of ride, comfort, perfomance and utility
Poor winter performance from OEM tires
I am in my 70s and have loved cars my entire adult life. I own 4 now, an Audi A5, a Mercedes converible, a Genesis and my XT6. Love them all. None have more than 50k on the odometer. If I didn't love them I am lucky enough that I could go buy what I like. The XT6 is the first car I choose when I want to go for a long drive, or a short hop to the store. I take several 2,000 mile trips each year, and in this vehicle. Comfort and performace that was unknown in a vehicle in this price range a decade ago. Certainly for an additional $10-15K you could get better, but not that much better! Just one note: I installed Michelin CrossClimate tires at 19k miles and there was a significant reduction of road noise and a vast improvement of ride comfort.
Comfortable all day long! Beautiful! Love how it
Remarkably annoying to drive because of the button
Drives like a dream! Looks great!! BUT There are three sets of every kind of button. Some make absolutely no sense at all. NOT INTUITIVE! We drove it every day for a month all around the country and still don’t like/ feel comfortable with the inside buttons and screens. We had the book out to try to understand but they don’t make sense. It is extremely irritating and DANGEROUS because you have to stop looking at the road just to find which hidden, barely marked button you have to push, swipe, click, push, not on the writing, but above or below , or or some other screen just to do one simple thing. Someone got carried away trying to be different! They succeeded.
Fun to drive and quick
I found now
I took it on a lease for three years. It has the best features, protections and comfort over all the cars I have had in the passed. This one is a KEEPER. Classy and ageless with the right care. So much fun to drive great Visibility, love the camera view 360 degree. Luxury XT6 has it all.
