Positive Review
This is my favorite suv that I have owned. More modern interior and dash than the 6 competitors I drove before purchasing, very comfortable, sharp looking exterior-all angles, precise steering, lots of power and so sure-footed. It's really perfect actually. I look forward to thinking of reasons to go get in it. So happy.
Critical Review
I'm disappointed in my new XT4. The car cabin is super loud, especially when driving on the Hwy where there is concrete. The ride is a stiff ride. I'm looking at replacing the tires hoping that will help with some of the noise. If that doesn't work, I will probably trade XT4 in for another Compact SUV that has a quiet cabin and not a rough ride.

I'm only removing it because I'm tired of the embarrassingly low offers I'm receiving from AutoTrader. I know my car is worth and I am not desperate to sell it at a $10,000 loss. Shame on you. Autotrader!
Nowadays everybody looking for a small luxury SUV do not look for Cadillac. Why? Improper marketing . Anyway this is an excellent SUV; very good performance, excellent brakes, very good handling, excellent reliability. Only a little noiser.
color=Deep sea metallic I upgraded from a 2014 Toyota Highlander to a 2024 Cadillac XT4 (the 2024 highlander drove the same as the 2014 Toyota highlander and had the same old chassis and interior so I wanted something different this time). The Cadillac XT4 has no turbo lag that I can feel. Every other car that I test drove had turbo lag, whether short or long...Mercedes GLC300 (least turbo lag), BMW X3 (a little more turbo lag), Porsche Macan S (even more turbo lag), Honda (way too much turbo lag). Cadillac's torque kicks on early at 1500 rpm producing 258 lbs. PRO: - Distinctive Cadillac vertical lights in front and rear reminiscent of 1950s Cadillac fins - Lighted Cadillac logo behind the dashboard is reminiscent of the lighted Apple logo on Macbooks - Easiest to get in and out of the car (Cadillac seat height is slightly lower than my 2014 Toyota Highlander suv, and higher than my 2019 Toyota Camry sedan). - Excellent reliability (no hybrid complexity to break). JD Powers ranks the Cadillac XT4 better than Honda CRV (https://compare.lithia.com/comparison/250938) Motor Trend ranks the 2024 Cadillac XT4 as #1: https://www.motortrend.com/features/most-reliable-luxury-suvs/ Top Speed ranks Cadillac XT4 as #1: https://www.topseed.com/cadillac-suvs-ranked-reliability/#:~:text=With%20the%20exception%20of%20the,%2C%20overall%2C%20very%20reliable%20vehicles. - BIG curved 33 in screen, same as in the $80k Cadillac Lyriq EV. - Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto - 74 in car width is spacious, and the widescreen makes it feel even more spacious - stops 60-0 in 109 ft is sport sedan territory - 0-60 in 7 seconds - Remote start to cool or heat the interior before getting inside - Auto brake assist frontal and backing up - Safer driving with physical buttons/knobs for climate control, windows, entertainment system, cruise control. - Standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert - Standard auto high beam headlights - Feels agile because it weighs under 4k pounds for an SUV - Long warranty and free 1st service - No range anxiety like an EV, no hassle of plugging/unplugging daily like an EV The Cadillac has these features that Youtubers miss: - Lighted logo behind the dashboard - Pulsating safety seat (most cars only beep) - Left behind child in the rear seat alert - Capless fuel tank (like my 2017 Corvette C7 ) - Umbrella storage in the doors (like Rolls Royce) - Active noise cancellation (like my 2017 Corvette C7 with Bose) - Power passenger seat with lumbar - Free 5G hotspot - Auto engine stop/start is the smoothest I’ve ever experienced that I don't even notice it. - The rear wiper on the liftgate is mounted on top of the glass for a clean look and is very easy to clean the window without getting snagged by the wipers if they were mounted at the bottom of the window like most SUVs. CON: - No spare tire and toolkit, it's a $350 option My video: https://youtu.be/ehsMYDQQHHU
31000 miles bought new great car need to trade for larger car garage kept. Cleaned reg. No children
Classy looking
Transmission not so good
This Cadillac looks very nice and sporty. The ride is comfortable and the interior is very nice, even though there is a little more road noise than I thought it would have when driving it. The transmission is the main turn off when it comes to this particular model. When moving at 10-20 miles per hour the car jerks and the transmission clunks when gears change. I have taken it in to get checked and the result is that there is nothing wrong with it.
There are so many disappointments with this car. The brakes are not nearly powerful enough. The suspension is way too soft and floaty which significantly effects performance in a negative way. There is a lot of torque steer from the front wheels when accelerating in 2wd mode. At about 26,000 miles, the entire computer system shut down leaving the car un-driveable. At 30,000 miles, the condenser for the air conditioning system seaized and filled theh entire system with shrapnel. I can't wait to get rid if this car.
If the looks and options don't get you the handling will! 9 speed transmission shifts like butter, you never feel it! By far the best SUV out there!
Looks great! Nice interior. Short wheel base makes for a rough ride on bumpy roads. Serious blind spots on both sides of front windshield. Typical of design engineers who never road in one...smile. Engine has plenty of power. Leather seats very comfortable. Good vehicle for one or two people.
