Positive Review
Before purchasing the XLR V, only 2,188 made, I test drove the base model as well. My only comment on the V model is that it's an upgraded base model on steroids. Love the additional supercharged power, acceleration and the sound of the engine when the pedal is put to the metal. I only participate in car shows and only average 1,200 miles yearly. Haven't had any mechanical issues since my initial purchase in Nov 2014. Counting my lucky stars when I hit the starter button. Buy it, if you want daily attention. I'm in the 4th quarter of my life and the XLR V will take me to my end game with a smile on my face. Previous Vette and Porche owner and they don't even come close. Since the car is out of production as of 2009, certain spare parts are impossible to find. Example, head and tail lights. Don't have an accident.
Critical Review
13% of the miles on the car are to and from the dealership for repairs. (3 tow-ins) 19,000 miles- 18 times to the dealership and te car sits for the winter. The top only works half of the time. It gets stuck up, it gets stuck down. It actually surprises me when it works. $86,000 sale price. $32,000 current value 19,000 miles 18 dealer visits (unable to fix for more than a month) DO THE MATH Hey, it is red with tan..the best looking XLR in the service department.

Rocket ship V model
No storage space in trunk with top down.
Style 20yrs ahead of their time, the V model with 433 horses and near same in torque are powerful roadsters! Retractable hardtop, beautiful interior and body style. Just WOW. Collectors are lining up.
Great ride
Rebuild the top hydraulic cylinders (8).
This is a corvette with a Cadillac ride and comfort. Performance with economy. CD player stop working and I cannot find anyone to repair it.
Fun to drive and really good mileage , dual gate s
Small trunk but not a Problem
I have a 08 alpine special edition , very low miles , purchased from a Nashville celebrity with only 20,000 miles 2 years ago . I was looking for a corvette and found this ?? Everybody has a vette most people have never seen an XLR , I follow IMSA sports car racing , Cadillacs rule and the first GTP Cadillac was based on the XLR . With the top up the trunk is small but I took mine to the beach with 2 fishing rods tackle box , metal detector, cooler and my luggage no problem , get there take your stuff inside and put the top down and cruise it beach rd ,
Fun to drive, comfortable and compliments galore.
Trunk space is poor when top is down.
What a fun vehicle. Beautifully styled inside and out. The hardtop convertible is a very slick operation. Not to many around and people always ask "What kind of car is that?" "That's a beauty" Unique and different automobile.
Fun to car
Noisy engine
Very good car
Rare, styling, powerful and durable.
Pricey
The XLR was developed with quality in mind. A robust enhanced engine with a forged crank, steel reinforced casing, stronger piston pins, stronger studs, VVT, and more. This car had then some items that were offered on the C6 Corvette and some features that were not offered on the C6. It was advanced using magnetic ride suspension, thicker panels, better paint and a beautiful interior. Light weight materials with longevity in mind.
Fast, sexy looking, great handling.
Small trunk space when top is down
Ive owned this car since it was 2 years old. I have driven this thing everywhere. At 85 it pulls less than 2000 RPM so it gets around 25 MPG on the highway (if you can keep your foot from pushing the skinny pedal too much!). Hands down a great car and I have not had a single problem.
Appearance, acceleration & a hard top convertible
