Competitively priced, the 2025 Cadillac XT6 offers 3-row seating, cutting-edge technology, and a hands-free driving system in a midsize luxury package. Pricing starts at $50,590.
If you want a practical, comfortable, and technologically advanced midsize luxury SUV at a reasonable price, the 2025 Cadillac XT6 is made to order. Providing more passenger room than many of its rivals, the XT6 doesn’t skimp on comfort either. Moreover, Cadillac has loaded it up with a plethora of technology, not the least of which is Super Cruise, which lets you take your hands off the wheel on more than 750,000 designated miles of North American highways.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and evaluating the current collection of midsize luxury SUVs, including this Cadillac XT6.
The Platinum Package, available for Premium Luxury and Sport grades, now includes Super Cruise and Night Vision.
The 2025 Cadillac XT6 has a starting sticker price of $50,590, with the range-topping XT6 Sport kicking off at $62,090. But Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing currently suggests paying $1,867 to $2,292 less than MSRP, depending on trim and equipment. These prices are updated weekly.
MSRP | KBB Fair Purchase Price (national avg.) | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
$50,590 | $48,723 | |||
$56,790 | $54,700 | |||
$62,090 | $59,798 |
If for no other reason, from the XT6’s three grades, we’d pick the Premium Luxury trim for the V6 engine. As it turns out, however, this happens to be the most chosen trim among XT6 buyers. We like it because for that extra $6,000, you also gain rain-sensing wipers, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, and heated/ventilated front seats, which are covered in leather, and much more.
The XT6 is on the more accessible side of midsize 3-row luxury SUVs. It’s priced close to the Lincoln Aviator, Acura MDX, and Infiniti QX60, and it’s considerably more affordable than European rivals like the Audi Q7, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
Before buying an XT6, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. The Cadillac XT6’s resale value is about average for the segment. Remember, recouping more money when you sell a vehicle can mean a bigger down payment and lower monthly payments on your next one.
The base turbocharged engine is a little underpowered for an SUV this big. It’s adequate for driving around town but feels a bit weak on the highway when it’s full of passengers. However, the ride is comfortable, and the handling is compliant.
We’re not surprised that the optional V6 is much more popular. We found this V6 to be a good fit for the XT6. The extra power is noticeable from behind the wheel, especially in highway maneuvering. The V6-powered Sport trim lives up to its name with sport-tuned all-wheel drive (AWD) and suspension systems and Brembo front brakes, making this premium SUV a little more entertaining to drive.
One of our favorite aspects of driving the XT6 is, we can drive it without feet on the pedals or hands on the wheel. The optional Super Cruise system allows for hands-free driving on over 750,000 miles of compatible highways in the United States and Canada. It takes a little getting used to, but we’re always impressed by how well Super Cruise works.
Fuel Economy
With the base turbocharged 4-cylinder, the XT6 delivers a government-estimated 23 mpg in combined (21 mpg city/27 mpg highway) driving. This is about average for the segment. However, the combined mileage drops to 21 mpg (19 city/26 highway) with the V6 upgrade. Opting for all-wheel drive has no impact on the combined mpg numbers.
Note: Despite being less efficient, the V6 has lower fuel costs than the 4-cylinder because the V6 can run on regular gas and the turbo engine requires premium octane.
We like the pleasant and upscale interior of the Cadillac XT6. Some rivals have more luxurious, high-tech interiors with nicer materials but remember, the XT6 is one of the most affordable choices in this class. The seats are supportive and comfortable, and we’re impressed by the standard features you get for the money.
A bench second-row seat is standard with seating for up to seven, and second-row captain’s chairs are optional. We prefer captain’s chairs because they elevate the second-row experience, as well as grant easier access to the third row.
We have no complaints about the space in the adult-friendly second row; however, following the established trend within the segment, the third row is a bit more snug. Having said that, though, it’s one of the roomiest third rows in this class. The XT6 boasts 29.5 inches of third-row legroom, which beats the Infiniti QX60, Acura MDX, and the Lincoln Aviator.
This Cadillac has 12.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, which is less than the three aforementioned rivals. If you fold down the third-row seats, that cargo space greatly increases to 43.1 cubic feet, which is about average for this class.
The Cadillac XT6 has a conservative, boxy design, yielding a roomy interior. The accent packages available for the XT6 Sport add attractive aesthetics to this SUV with blue, bronze, or red accents, plus 20-inch gloss black wheels.
Roomy interior
The XT6 has a spacious, family-friendly interior with three rows of seats you can actually use. In many of its rivals, the third row is cramped and difficult to access.
Super Cruise
The sophisticated Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system allows for hands-free driving on highways mapped by Cadillac. It’s optional on the Premium Luxury and Sport trims.
Cadillac Smart System
This standard safety tech suite in the XT6 includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert Seat, rear parking sensors, a Teen Driver mode, and a rear seat reminder.
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
These convenient features bring your maps, music, and more to the screen in your SUV without taking your phone out of your purse or pocket. Oh, and we love that we can leave our cables at home.
Wireless charging
All but the base trim come standard with a wireless charging pad. This makes it easy to keep the battery in your phone topped off without fussing with wires.
Platinum Package
This option package for the Premium Luxury and Sport trims adds many premium features like semi-aniline leather seating, additional leather interior trim, a sueded microfiber headliner, and a real-time damping suspension system. Plus, for 2025, Super Cruise is included, too.
The base turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the XT6 makes 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The V6, standard in the Premium Luxury and Sport trims, produces 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque.
4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty
The Cadillac XT6 is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and a 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty. That powertrain coverage exceeds most European luxury brands.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded the XT6 its highest 5-Star overall rating. Its performance in older tests administered by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the XT6 received its highest rating of Good. However, for the two tests developed and initiated since the current XT6 generation launched, this SUV chalked up the worst scores of Poor. Cadillac does provide a wide array of standard advanced safety technology across all three trim levels. For example, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and more are standard.
