Positive Review
I've owned the GX for about 3 weeks now-700 miles so far. There's lots to like but there but there are some weaknesses to be addressed. Strengths: Comfortable, Strong Acceleration, Great looks, Regular gas, Roomy back seat for a subcompact SUV., Great safety features, Excellent native navi system , Smooth shifting transmission; Bright headlights. Concerns/Issues: City MPG is only about 24 mpg...so far; Infotainment system will not receive/play text messages on Android phones (tried a Pixel 3a and Galaxy S10) - Dealer acknowledges the issue. you can only see texts thru Android Auto if phone is connected by USB; Lane departure warning doesn't work at speeds below 37-38 mph - dealer acknowledges this is an issue. This is a safety concern!; No padding in the door pockets-annoying as things slide around; No air vent in the rear seat area. Some other thoughts - handling is secure but not as "tight" as the Mazda CX30 which I test drove. You can turn off the start/stop feature though it’s unobtrusive to me. Would have been nice if there was an auto-hold feature. You can also shut off the AWD. The instrument cluster is awkward. Lots of scrolling if you want to monitor things like MPG, range, speed limits-they're all on different screens. Overall I'm pleased but I do expect Buick to address the texting and lane departure warning issues. Dealer is "researching" issues since this such a new model.
Critical Review
Sterling mMcCall Buick Houston Texas I would not recommend this car or any car Sterling McCall has if that manager will take advantage of senior citizen Shane on that dealership. They told me unless I add on all these extras like maintain certain Ext I could not have the car. I was in such desperate need I signed. Now I can’t make payment

This little Buick combines good mpg, outstanding tech, all with a smooth quiet ride. The motor has more than enough power, and the Encore GX is very sexy and stylish and well built. You can keep your boring Lexus and elon's junk, just get the Buick.
Great design, peppy engine, Great gas milage, 30 MPG or more.sticks to the road, large front cab capacity.
Small suv with awd and has done good in the winter time with snow. Not the fastest vehicle but for a 1.3 motor it has plenty of get up speed.
It does not ride as a BUICK should, my daughters ford focus rides softer. There is ZERO Buick luxury as one would expect. Android Auto BT doesn't always works with the same phone. On star is listening and watching EVEN if you don't pay for the service. Very creepy! YOUR car insurance is getting the video of anything and everything even if OnStar service is turned off, which is kid of a good thing but still CREEPY! so, YOU ARE ON CAMERA AT ALL TIMES! No Adaptive cruise control...? why? in 2022 that should be standard. The wheel is SO LIGHT that one have to REALLY hold on to it. I drove to Florida from TX and by the time I got there my palms were swollen and my daughter, who was driving behind me said that I was zigzagging a lot. I have tried every witch way to hold the steering wheel to no avail. It was so painful, that I had to get a drivers glove for the way back. In some cars there is an "adjuster" for the SW hardness, Buick don't have it. Some buttons like auto stop, traction, etc. are at a VERY inconvenient place, right where on put ones glasses, phone, etc. BEHIND the gearshift column! WHY?! Day or night, it was NOT possible to find it/or use it while driving, unless one stop to look for it. We have encountered a big storm and I wanted to turn traction on but could not make out in the dark, behind the G shift column which button it was. Very bad design. Cruise control DOES NOT pick up where the current speed is! It picks up previous speed! VERY DANGEROUS! SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THAT. The engine sounds like 2 gerbils are running and fighting in the front under the hood. I thought there was something wrong with the engine, and when I told the Buick dealer service person, he smiled and said "yep, thats how this new buick sounds , hahaha" Really?! Just DONT buy this. Im 56 and I even hate it. Its NOT EVEN GOOD enough for a grandma car!

Our Buick Encore GX is a wonder vehicle. It has good gas mileage and is incredibly comfortable to drive. I recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting a reliable SUV. .
The gas mileage is great
The space for cups and connivence is limited
I decided to lease my encore GX select I had a previous Buick and decided to stick with what I knew the best. I love the 29 to 32 mileage per gallon you get with the 1.2L FWD but it is very under powered. The 1.3 option is a much better option if you want a little more pep in your step. Now the turbo in the 1.2 does make up for certain situations but the CVT transmission is a little unnecessary.. just put a real transmission with a turbo and it would make things much better. Interior designs are very bold and beautiful I love driving my vehicle and having the comfort of the nice touch screen and also the digital and original speedometer to look at while driving.
The 2021 encore gx select awd is a great vehicle for the money. Has great safety features and a luxury feel. The 1.3 turbo motor has enough get up for daily driving but not the most impressive.
