"Good at what it is intended to do"

This car is Buick's modern iteration of the 60s boulevard cruiser, but it is much more nimble than those rides. Our car is blue with a black top and the cream interior. Let's address the experts' perceived "negatives" first: The buttons--once you read the manual and learn the systems, you rarely need to touch the touch screen and the buttons become second nature and you can feel them without looking down much. Indeed, once you learn the function of the chrome ring "selector" around the large oval dial in the middle of the stack, life gets much easier. The weight--the car's driving dynamics are very good--stopping, steering, even acceleration, as it is geared to scoot at low speeds. I do not mean to suggest it is a 0-60 burner, but acceleration is more than adequate for any normal driving, like merging onto a freeway. Gas mileage is not good because of the gearing and weight, but that is not a factor to me. The ride impact harshness--Buick recommends 35 lbs for its big, 20 inch tires. I lowered pressures to 30 pounds and the car rides much better, still handles great, and so far no nibbles at the wear arrows. I suspect Buick spec'd the high pressures to get to the 20 mpg mark in the city driving cycle. If you don't want to change from the spec'd pressures, buy some new 18 inch, 45-50 series tires and wheels and forget about the problem. The positives: The car looks great--turns lots of heads. Paint finish is very good. Front seats are super comfortable (we got the cream interior with perforated leather seats, reflective sun coating, and seat heaters) and the back seat is big enough to take two real adults to dinner (Front seats move forward electrically to allow access). Materials seem good, but maybe it could use more soft touch stuff. Stitching on the dash and wheel looks great, and the trim bits are nice. The audio system sounds very good. The roof gives a quiet ride up, and drops/raises with the touch of one button. Totally water-tight in a touchless car wash. Visibility with the top up is typically poor, like many verts. Steering and braking feel are first rate. Drives very nimbly, although it is not intended to be a sports car. Trunk space is fine for a vert, and the car has one-touch pass-through rear seats. Price--At its price point of about 38K, it has no real competition in the "adult" vert range (Camaro and Mustang need not apply). We looked at the BMW 2 series, all of which in inventory were priced in the mid-40s and had a kiddie-only back seat. A 4 year old CPO Mercedes is a nice option, but it is 4 years old and maintenance on them is expensive. The Buick dealer gives 2 years' free maintenance, and the full warranty is 4 years, 50K miles. Summary: If you understand what this car is intended to be, it is a pretty good deal. If you expect a sports car, you will be disappointed. If you want a 4 seat cruiser that does the job well, it is fine. Just lower the tire pressures!

"A GM waste"

An ugly convertible, looks outdated, as a 90's design, shark mastil at the trunk really ugly, I really don't understand why GM invest money in things like this, they already have a 4 seat convertible under the chevy brand (Camaro) then why compete using something that looks for retire people, front highlights are similar than Dodge stratus 2003, Why "GM Brilliant Minds" instead do not revive models that people are still dreaming, such as the Saturn Sky, a roadster convertible less expensive than a Corvette with beautiful and agressive lines, if the GM brilliant minds were rebranded the SKY under the badge of Buick, with updated technology, deluxe interior, and automatic soft or hard top for sure it would be a hit. What a waste!

Love my Cascada!
Pros

Everything about it but especially the ride.

Cons

Absolutely none!

When I decided I wanted a convertible my husband wanted me to get a Camaro or Corvette. We live in a small town that does not have a Volvo, Mercedes, or BMW dealership. One of my main criteria was it had to be something I could have serviced locally. I test drove a Camaro. A corvette was not a consideration. I have personally never cared for them. I test drove a fiat. Then we went and drove the Cascada and my decision was made. I love it as much today as I did the day I drove it off of the lot. I wanted a car that drove and rode good with the top up or with the top down, and that is exactly what I got. LOVE, LOVE, MY CASCADA!

I love my Cascada
Pros

Enjoy diriving it

Cons

It's squeeky when I drive on bumpy streets.

I love the way my Cascada handles. I had a T-bird with the added hard top, I bought the Cascada because the top is so simple to put up and down. Good gas mileage.

So far so good!
Pros

Fun to drive and own.

Cons

None

I purchased this car 1 mo. ago with 21,570 miles. I'm a senior citizen who doesn't like to act my age. This fills the bill very well. I get a lot of complements on its looks with the top up or down. I recommend it to any fun seeker.

Unique car
Pros

It’s a drop top therefore FUN!

Cons

Average gas mileage

I like the fact that this car isn’t like everything else on the road. The car has a little over 11k miles on it. It’s babied and kept in the garage, like any self respecting convertible owner would do. Just kidding!! Sort of, maybe, kinda. After 4 years I still have people coming up to me asking what kind of car it is and usually saying how much they like it. I have a red sport touring. It has the dark effects package which blacks out the grill and other things. They left the belt line chrome and I hated it since day one and had it painted glossy black and like it so much better. I won’t get into styling of the car because those things are personal, you like it or you don’t, I personally think it’s a beautiful car. Not perfect, it has some odd proportions about it, but for me it works. As a lot of other reviews have stated don’t pay attention to professional reviews on this one. So much is overstated. It’s power and acceleration are fine, especially when merging or passing. Drives great and has the least cowl shake of the 4 drop tops I’ve owned. That stiffness does have a price though the car can be unforgiving of bad roads. Just let a few psi out of those big ole tires and it’s much better. Feels very “European” when driving and very similar to a BMW I had some years ago. Though not exactly up to that standard but pretty close. Love the fact it has buttons for a lot of its functions instead of fiddling with a touchscreen. I’m by no means shy of technology but prefer to keep my eyes on the road and feel for a button. Favorite options are; The cornering lights, been awhile since I had a vehicle with them and forgot how useful they are. Heated steering wheel, which I thought would be a useless gimmick, is freaking awesome I love it. Doesn’t have blind spot monitoring which to me is no biggie, I installed a blind spot mirror which I prefer anyway. No push button start. Who cares? I still have to remember to bring a fob with me anyway so might as well turn a key while I’m at it. Oh the humanity! My poor wrists! Headlights in general are great, brightest I’ve personally ever owned. I’d say for the near 40k asking price you definitely got what you paid for, mid level luxury. Overall a great fun car, if your interested in getting a used one don’t hesitate, Judging by what most people who actually own the car say, including me, you’ll be very happy! Shame they discontinued it instead of remodeling and updating with a bit more power, but GM sold off the division that made this car so guess there was no point. No more 4 seater ragtops left under 60 grand anymore except for Camaros and mustangs. And since I’m not in my 20’s anymore I’ll pass. Maybe I can convince the better half we absolutely need to spend over 70 grand on our next car and get an Audi or 6 series drop top. I’m sure that will go over well.

Not your grandma's Buick
Pros

Super quiet for a convertible, big trunk too

Cons

rear view visibility

Just picked up a 2017 Cascada with only 2000 miles on it. I must say, I'm very impressed with the sporty handling and overall drivability of it. The Cascada is like 75% sports car, 25% Buick. It handles like a sports car, but offers a softer, less punishing ride than corvettes, vipers, etc. The front seats are snug and firm, but again, softer than your typical sports car. Its like they wanted to build a true sports car, but then they woke up and realized they were Buick, so they only went three quarters of the way. And that's probably a good thing, as many of us prefer a bit more livability in and comfort in their vehicles. The soft top is unbelievably quiet. I'd say this car is as quiet as a typical hardtop, perhaps even more so. And dropping the top is a breeze - just hit a button and the top completely disappears into the body of the car, with a hardtop cover flipping up and hiding it. Both the trunk and backseat are suprisingly large, a rarity in convertibles. And God forbid you're ever in an accident, the Cascada's rollbars pop up when it senses the car is going to flip. An amazing feature for a car in this price range. On the negative side, the rear window is very tiny, so visibility out the back is poor. To make matters worse, Buick didn't provide Blind Spot Detection in the Cascade, which is a bizarre and terrible decision. But other than that, this is really a fantastic car. A shame they only made them for 4 years...!

Love. This. Car.

My wife and I have been looking for a midsize midrange convertible for years and after seeing a Cascada in a parking lot knew this was the car we wanted. It has all the bells and whistles you’d find in a BMW, Mercedes or Audi at a fraction of the cost to purchase and maintain. Although they’ve been discontinued as of 2019 now is the perfect time to find a newer used car with low miles for half the sticker price. The only drawbacks are the MPG isn’t optimal and you can’t link your iPhone to the display screen, but the pros (beautiful car, tons of standard features, handles great, decent back seat / trunk space) far outweigh those two potential cons.
