Positive Review

"LOVE this vehicle! Awesome power AND comfort!"

Have owned this car for a year now and I still love driving it and find myself staring at it as I walk up to it in the parking lot... It is large yet sporty. It has all the incredible creature comforts that I now will never be able to live without... (heads up display, heated and cooled seats through perforated leather). No it is not a fuel efficient car (23mpg has been my experience) but that is not what you buy this vehicle for. This car is all about style, comfort, power, and confidence in all weather conditions. My vehicle is a 2011 and I actually looked into getting a 2015 but they are not offering the blue exterior!! I have the Monaco Blue exterior with aluminum running boards, inside is the sand beige perforated leather interior. I get a lot of positive comments on the look of the car and the idea of a newer model is very tempting but I cannot give up the blue color...

Critical Review

"Waste of money- should have kept the X5!"

I had electric problems from the minute I bought this BRAND-NEW 2013 in Winter of 2012. The windows either would roll down on their own or not roll down. Great driving up to the drive -thru in a new car and having to get out in the winter because the windows won't roll down. BMW eventually fixed it and just gave me one free detail service- thanks a lot BMW. Then 2 days in a row it just wouldn't start. I panicked and brought it to the dealer. They said, "oh it just needs a software upgrade" WHAT?! So, if I had been on vacation with my kids what would I have done? Seriously? They had no answer. Now the AUX cable keeps insisting that it is plugged in and working - NOTHING is plugged in and I can't play my music. All minor complaints in a big world but I paid a lot of money for this car BECAUSE it is supposed to have good craftsmanship. DO NOT buy in US! I found out AFTER that if I had gone to Germany to order the car there, BMW finances the whole trip! I told them they at least owed me a trip to the factory that made my defective car. They refused. Also, no handle on roof in case I turn quickly or my grandmother has to pull herself into the front seat. The air-conditioner is very loud and weak.

Best Purchase Ever!
Pros

Excellent, Punchy Engine - Head-turning

Cons

Lacking Cargo Capacity - Sticky Int. Door Handles

I purchased a used 2010 BMW X6 xDrive50i in Alpine White with the Chateau Red Leather recently, and I must say, it is the best thing ever to exist. I've owned many cars from different brands, but BMW is definitely in my top three, especially regarding quality and performance. My X6 comes with the N63B44O0 V8 engine, and it's incredible. It may be slightly unreliable sometimes, but it's worth it. It also has the 20-way Chateau Nevada Leather interior, and it is incredibly comfy, so comfy that (personally) it's nearly up to Volvo standards. However, with all good things, there may be some flaws. Yes, you get a unique car with a quirky shape, but it lessens your cargo capacity. My trunk is smaller than my first-gen Volvo XC60, and that's a compact SUV. Not only that, but the fuel economy could be much better. I tend to average a whopping 12 miles per gallon. (However, I think it also may be the result of my horrible driving) And lastly, the door handles get corroded, become sticky, and leave a dark black sticky residue all over your hands. But overall, it is a fantastic vehicle; if you have the money, I'd probably purchase one for yourself. I recommend this to anyone in the market for an upscale quirky vehicle you hardly see on the streets.

Pros

Seating,Handling,Compact,Stylish

Cons

Not fuel friendly if heavy foot.

I love this car. Wife wanted the X6 5.0 twin turbo with winter package and finally gave in . I’m the 2nd owner ( bought with 37k miles ) I just wasn’t a fan…. yet) after fully driving and experiencing all its capabilities . I took over and bought her a New X5 fully loaded with 3rd row seat Family Rd trips summer & winter trips . Use for beach, hike, bike , skiing or exploring trips. Our too kids loved the back seat on trips. I’ve kept the regular maintenance , at 110k replaced both rear air bags , 135k replace a/c unit , windshield pump , new battery and clean out engine from oil build up ( white smoke ) total cost 10,000 from my TRUSTED Certified BMW mechanic owned 10.5 years and still stylish and going STRONG .Will keep till the wheels fall off.

This is a Sleeper Crossover....
Pros

Too fun to drive, brakes, handling, acceleration

Cons

expensive to own, eats gasoline like a mofo

Yes, I agree it looks funky. But, that's also ME.... a very unconventional, and largely impractical but FAST Crossover AWD vehicle. It will eat STi Subarus for lunch. It will outgun a Corvette, from a dead stop, in M-Dynamic Mode. It's off-road capability has even impressed WRC Rally Champion Markku Alen in the snow. I had many Turbo cars before but this one holds a special place in my heart.

Best car ever made, hands down! PERIOD.
Pros

Seats, driving dynamics, unique styling, rare

Cons

Cost. But then again, if you have to ask...

I purchased this as a 2-yr-old used car just under 5 months ago with 22,000 miles on it (paid 40% off the original sticker price, woo hoo!!!) and shelled out an extra $6k for the extended 5-yr/100k warranty coz, yeah - you need that. Happy to report that I've already driven it 10,000 miles in less than half a year. That should tell you just how much I love this car. I know, I know, I need to cut down on my annual mileage but why own such an amazing car and keep it in the drive way? Plus, there's something to be said about out-performing most sports cars around bends while carrying 5 people and their luggage! Gas mileage is not the best but that's to be expected. However, since I waited before making this purchase when the car was first released, I not only benefited from the "discounted" purchase price but also benefited immensely from 1] the fact that gas prices are much lower now than they were a few years ago, 2] the release of this "M" version, and 3] LED Headlights and Premium Sound package!

Unique design, incredible drive
Pros

Unique design, fun to drive

Cons

lack of cargo space

I traded in my 2007 Volvo XC90. I am in fact a "soccer mom" to one teen boy and just wanted to step away from an SUV and go for something sportier and more fun to drive. I LOVE the look of crossover vehicles. Seeing the X6 was EXACTLY IT!!! I do miss my cargo space but there was no need to continue having a 7 "seater" when it is no longer warranted. I'll admit my purchase was an impulse buy but 2 months later, I'm still loving it!! The handling and power blow me away not to mention I can hardly feel going over a bump. I get stares everywhere I go! I didn't realize it's such a head turner but I love it!! A BMW is truly the ultimate driving machine!!
