Positive Review
I've owned my 2014 X5 35d for 1.5 years now and have driven 44,000 miles. So far I've only had a ton of fun and no problems at all. I LOVE the way it drives, I love the exterior but even more so the interior with Mocha Napa leather seats and leather dash board, love the heads-up display, the 360 degree camera, love the comfort seats (they are amazing, but you need to take the time and really fine-tune all the different adjustments). Love all the technology (safety features, advanced navigation system, etc). Love all the little thoughtful details that you don't notice during a test drive. There are a ton of other things that I love, but if I had to give you cons, the only ones I can come up with are: the blind spot indicator light is by far not bright enough and the Rhapsody app doesn't work very well, but that's probably not even BMW's issue. Bottom line: amazing car in every aspect!
Critical Review
I have leased 2014 BMW X5 last week. It has broken right after 2 days with 40 miles on it. BMW does not have parts to repair it. Their estimate of the availability of parts is end of January 2014 and they do not give written proof on that when they can fix it. Thought of letting this scary situation know to other BMW X5 lovers, so that they can think twice and save their money. BMW refused provide any alternatives in this case until the vehicle attempt to fix, which nobody knows when it will be. Most importantly, I’m running out of time in my lease and spending money for partially working vehicle.

Reliable, comfortable
Body went out of style.
I want to start by saying that the 2017 BMW X5 is exceptionally reliable. This car has been in my family for seven years and has never given us any issues. The car has only had standard oil changes, tire changes, and break maintenance. We drive this car nonstop daily, which still drives like an absolute dream. I recommend 10/10.
The ride is comfortable and it handles very well.
Multiple repairs and high costs.
Bought a 2016 BMX X5 used with 35Kmiles. This is my second X5. Experience some ghost electronic issues for a while. After the vehicle passed 100k miles, it was in the shop frequently. The air compressor pump that inflates the dynamic suspension failed ($2k), the heating/cooling system failed requiring a new system board, 6 months of trying to get the brake system to work with costs over $4k, (the BMW certified service dealership even had to call BMW engineering in Germany to get help with repairs. Apparently, there is a different procedure to fill break fluid after you put in a new brake cylinder). I decided to get a new vehicle, but they would only give me $2,500 for trade-in value. Guess the repair history follows the VIN among BMWs. The ride is nice when it works ok.

Outstanding curb appeal. Lightning performance. Unmatched comfort and amenities. Bad fuel economy. But who cares when you have 567hp at your disposal.

I had the 2015 BMW X35D Diesel version and the timing chain broke at 122,000 miles, and ruined the engine. If it wasn't for this, I would rate this car 5 stars, great power, handling, surprisingly easy to work on, and I miss having the car.
Best and most comfortable vehicle I’ve ever owned. I owned ALOT H2Hummer before this. It gets up and goes fast! Or nice in town ride. My large dog live the back seat.
Great vehicle, fully loaded, heads up display is a must - super comfortable, spacious, drives like a dream
Fast, great handling and beautiful to look at
Can't think of any except maintenance cl
