Positive Review
I'd have this x5 for 6 yrs, 90k miles. So far, it has been an excellent vehicle. It's more reliable than I thought it would be. The best suv when you're on high speed, highways. It performed like a sports car, and the best thing is: the engine and transmission is still really tight after 90k miles, no problems whatsoever.
Critical Review
Very unreliable. Purchased used approximately one year ago and already spent nearly $4000 in repairs. Recent repair cost over $2000 for a brake master cylinder and brake booster. And this is after we had brand new brake lines done. These "bmw"s are not manufactured in Germany. They are assembled in Spartanburg North Carolina. Transmission is a GM, not bmw. We will never buy another German car, they are very unreliable, expensive to maintain, and very over-engineered leading to costly repairs. Stick with a Japanese car.

Basic but has some creature comforts. Been a good car. No problems. Good power but not stellar. Would buy again or consider the next gen BMW x5.

Wonderful BMW to own That’s a solid car that rides incredible even though BMW can have an expensive name behind it I’ve never had any issues with this car

Performance and reliability
Maintenance cost.
It is a very powerful truck. Stability is very good compare with the same class of SUV. Very reliable. I only have had wear and tear problem. Take care of it well, it works great for me. I love it very much. Also own a 2014 535i xdrive. This is also a great car to drive. I love BMW. They are ultimate driving machines. The only problem is maintenance cost. Try to learn to do it myself, or find a great and trustable cheaper mechanic.
Every thing About it !
Cheap owners that do not SERVICE them !
Great SUV Design a long term keeper- , Power (4.4 Engine) 5 Speed Trans W-Sport Shifting . All wheel Drive & as Fast as you'll need it to be, was $60,000 in todays $$ .,.,$90,000 plus. if you can't (or won't Service it) buy a lesser SUV. Find a Good & Honest Mechanic and Stay with him (or her).you go to the off road Dessert ,Back woods or Grammy awards Event ! always in Style !
Fun to drive
Expensive to maintain.
I love driving a BMW. I've had two: a 325 ic and a X5 4.4i. Both were a blast to drive, but pain in the pocketbook to keep up. I did a lot of work on by own, too, to save money and I saved thousands of dollars doing so. But, eventually the big stuff starts going out and when it does it goes out like the seasons of the year. I can't say I'll never own another BMW, but it will be a long time or a lottery win to make me take another.
