"Best BMW -- second one with the 4 liter engine"

Bought it with 24k on the speedo three years ago. Only replaced battery and seeping transmission seal - $1300.both paid for by the warranty. Never got to use more of the $3600. warranty. I pass trucks at 90-130 mph, and slow down. Superior handling, use it for coast to coast trips a couple of times a year. A 3, or even 5-series doesn't come close to this car in comfort, or performance. Everybody said too complex to work on, and trouble prone -- not so. I change the oil myself and replace the $350.rear tires every 20k that is all The anti-paparazzi side and rear power window shades, cooled/heated massaging seats and rear foot rests spell luxury for the next starlet you date. I would buy another used one in a heartbeat. On a flat Kansas interstate I get 26.8, around town 19.8 I have the regular suspension and premium 19" wheels. Best car I have ever driven.

"This is the Ultimate Spending Machine. Do not Buy"

The last repair this year after spending $3700 was the $710 yesterday for the rear seat belt buckle and a new battery at the BMW dealer. Going home and after 10 minutes every light lit up in the dashboard. Made a U turn dropped the car back at the dealer. Got a call this morning to fix the faulty brake light, ABS light another $2200. The ultimate driving machine has been nothing but an ultimate spending machine. Seriously BMW?

One of the most lovely cars in the world.
Pros

A beautiful experience on all levels.

Cons

Service, maintenance, and fuel are expensive.

Ride is always smooth as silk. There is no other car with a ride like this one has. A true luxury sedan, with an enormous back seat. Your back seat passengers will be as comfortable as those in the front. Corners like a dream. Shiatsu massager in the driver's seat for long drives, which, in this car, will be completely different from a long drive in pretty much any car. Expensive to drive, and to own. Worth it.

I love car but it requires lot's of maint
Pros

Fun to drive, Smooth, lots of goobley gobbly xtras

Cons

the xtras cost $$ repair/mtnce costly

I do like the car alot it run smooth. However it has been a money pit. I have barely got to drive it and it has been one repair after another. Some of it was expected, but not this much. I still am trying to figure out why the check engine light is on and based on last mechanic (paid 100) to inspect and he said the culprit was catalytic converter. A beyond spendy repair that is not gonna happen for this guy. I have poured already over 2k into it and barely got to drive it. When it is running it runs smooth. I love the way it drives looks just not how much the bills everytime are for anything on it. Also why they make it so hard to work on or find stuff on it are beyond me!

Pros

Looks can be deceiving

Cons

Misfortune

I'm the second owner of the vehicle I purchased it's in 2012 for $35,000 for the first problem that was Major was a smoke and that was around 75,000 miles at that point I brought it to a independent BMW mechanic he stated that in about a month I will be looking at $3,000 worth of engine work because of oil leaks and about that time I woke up one morning and all the transmission oil leaked out of the car they were constant times where sensors went off to where my car was at the dealership twice a month and the last time I went to the dealership for mechanical work the mechanic looked at me smile and said womp womp
