Predicted Resale Value After 5 Years of Ownership: 35.7%
The Porsche Cayenne is evidence that excellence can be measured outside the crucible of motorsports. As Porsche’s first foray outside its traditional realm of sports cars, the Porsche Cayenne has proved that the automaker’s brand is not constrained by traditional thinking and has proven itself in the highly competitive luxury SUV segment. Along with the Porsche pedigree, credible off-road capability and a high level of luxury thanks to its luxurious appointed interior, the Cayenne also offers the kind of advanced technology that you’d expect from a high-line German manufacturer.
The Cayenne has not only proven itself desirable, but also a great platform in which Porsche is using to expand its powertrain choices to include everything from twin-turbo V8 road scorchers to plug-in hybrids. There are no fewer than five variants, starting with a standard 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 rated at 335 horsepower. The S model ups the ante to 434 horses from a twin turbo 2.9-liter V6 and tops out the standard model range with the 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 making 541 horsepower.
But wait, there’s more in the form of two hybrids, the 455-horsepower Cayenne E-Hybrid with its 3.0-liter turbo V6 and the range and performance topping Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, a new model that pairs a plug-in electric drivetrain with the twin-turbo V8 to make 670 horsepower.
On top of all this technology and performance, owners can expect class-leading resale values, a traditional strength not only of this model, but the Porsche brand in general. The Cayenne’s performance contributed to the company snaring Best Resale Value for a Luxury brand.
