The 2025 Ford F-150 boasts the highest towing capacity, payload capacity, and most innovative tech in the full-size truck segment. When it comes to powertrains, there’s something for everyone: a normally aspirated V8 engine, two twin-turbo engines, a hybrid, and a fully electric option. (And you may have noticed that the F-150 Lightning is a 3-time winner of our Electric Truck Best Buy Award.) Whether it’s a basic work truck, an opulent people mover, a capable off-roader, or something in between, there’s an F-150 for the job.
There is good reason Kelley Blue Book has named the F-150 a Best Buy Award winner among full-size trucks for the 11th consecutive year: Year after year, it sets the bar for capability, fuel economy, and technology.
Choose Your Own Adventure
One of the most impressive things about the F-150 is how easy it is to find a cab, bed, engine, and trim combination that suits your needs — and all of them are very easy to recommend. The work truck comes standard with Ford’s potent 325-horsepower 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo, an engine that’s an ideal combination of power, efficiency, and capability for most people. Stepping up to the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 nets the F-150’s maximum towing capacity of 13,500 pounds, and with the high-output version, up to 450 hp. The PowerBoost hybrid gives the F-150 11,200 pounds of towing capacity or more than 700 miles of range. The Baja-inspired, sand-racing Raptor is a force of nature, and the Raptor R ups the ante with a 720-hp supercharged V8. Moreover, the top-of-the-line Platinum with the Platinum Plus package provides all the splendor and comfort of a high-end Euro luxury sedan.
Whatever trim level of the F-150 you choose, you will be pleasantly surprised by the level of technology, comfort, and performance. Even in its base XL trim, Ford packs in standard features like a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. It also has the comprehensive Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 bundle of safety and driver-aid technologies.
As you work your way to the top of the trim-level ladder, the F-150 gains in convenience and technology. For some grades like the Tremor and Raptor, those gains are in the form of additional off-road capability. On other trim levels, like the King Ranch and Platinum, the enhancements bring more convenience and comfort.
Ready for Hard Work and Family Travel
In addition to the F-150’s plentiful and widely varied trim levels, the trucks are versatile when it comes to what truck buyers want and need. Whether you need to get a trailer to the job site or a boat to the lake, the Ford F-150 excels in towing. When properly equipped, it can pull up to 13,500 pounds. However, the F-150’s capability as a work truck doesn’t end with its towing and hauling numbers. Ford offers a system that makes easy work of hooking up your trailer. Pro Trailer Backup Assist uses cameras and the infotainment touchscreen to help you back up your truck and trailer, and the available Smart Hitch will even gauge tongue weight to aid in distributing the trailer’s load. Meanwhile, the available Pro Access Tailgate has a swing-out opening, making it easier to access the bed while a trailer is hooked up.
The Pro Power Onboard mobile generator is an option with three of the F-150’s engines and the hybrid powertrain. With it, you can run several power tools simultaneously at the construction site or add a helpful power source on your next camping trip. And Ford’s innovative built-in tailgate step makes climbing into and out of the cargo box easy.
While this truck is a highly capable towing and hauling rig, the SuperCrew is a people-friendly space. The second row has a flat floor, with plenty of head- and legroom for members of the crew and your family. The comfortable ride and cabin amenities make this truck a great choice for road trips, too.
Safety
The 2025 Ford F-150 provides a bevy of safety technologies. Beginning with the standard Co-Pilot360 2.0 suite of safety and driver-aid technologies, the F-150 comes loaded with features to help keep you and yours safe. Automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are standard across the board. As you enter the pricier trims, additional safety features like a surround-view camera system and adaptive cruise control become standard.
The BlueCruise 1.4 semi-autonomous hands-free driving system is optional on the XLT trim and standard on the Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum models. BlueCruise is one of our favorite hands-free driving systems. It lets you take your hands off the wheel (while keeping your eyes on the road) on 97% of controlled access highways across the U.S. and Canada.
Whether you gauge a truck’s prowess by its capability, power, efficiency, or comfort, the 2025 Ford F-150 excels, and its diverse model range ensures there’s an F-150 for anyone looking for a full-size pickup.
