Positive Review

"Fantastic quality, superb safety!"

I've had this car for 7 years, and I've absolutely loved it! Everything is made with fantastic quality. Mine has Audi's superb Quattro AWD system so I can drive in the toughest weather. Also, it has a ton of airbags for added safety. This car has lasted through multiple road trips all over the U.S. with great comfort and reliability. The only cons are some common defects in this particular year like the cruise control and ABS that quit working. Also, some of the spring-loaded cup holders either stay open or lose their springs.

"Like a sleeping baby"

The two best days of owing my Audi A6 2.7T S-Line was the day I bought it, and the day I sold it. It was the most expensive car that I have ever owned. Everything on it cost north of $500, but usually is $1000 plus. I bought mine with only 98000 miles. A month after I bought it the alternator failed, that was $1100 for Alternator and Battery. A week later it was $500 for wheel bearings. Then Two weeks later the Check engine light came on. Found out it was a air sensor: that was gonna be $700+ depending which one it was. Also It only gave me 19mpg average. 5 mos into owning the car I sold it and took a decent loss. I could finally sleep at nights and not have to worry about what else will go wrong. Don`t get me wrong, the car is a blast to drive and handles very well. But it wasn't worth all the money I had to put in it. I regretted selling my Lexus ES300 for it. I went out and bought an LS400 and now i`m back in car heaven. If you decide to get the car, get a warranty or be ready to sink thousands in it.

It was a great run

It was 2009 and my wife tired of our Maxima w/ the 5 speed stick, a great car but her commuter vehicle so, when the neighbor drove up in her clattering 2000 Audi A6 2.7t AWD w/ tiptronic, asking for help removing the license plates, I not only obliged, but I bought it for $1,500.00. It had about 155k on the odo, was as new inside and out but the water pump and everything else begged to be changed. Never been smoked in, no kids, I took it to an Audi tech who fixed everything + we sent the ECU to a shop for remapping and now instead of just 250hp, it delivers an alleged 330hp. I don't have the exact figure in front of me but let's guess around $2,000 to get it on the road and, by March of 2025 and some $12,000 later, at 236,000 ear to ear grinning miles we had to let her go. Unbelievable ride, great seats... I'd say close to our Mercedes CL550. It was a back up car... if I wanted to wash the wife's Volvo, she'd take the Audi to work; if I had a plane to catch, it was the airport car... generally never leaving the Baltimore area... one exception a year ago when a friend who'd just had spinal surgery needed a ride back to Pittsburgh... it looked like ugly weather might prevail, our 4Runner seemed the choice but I thought too rough for him so we took the Audi. It sailed out and back, easily running 80mph where we could get away with it. If you can afford the nuances that come with the car (our neighbor gave up but she did give it a 9 year run), what a cool car. If you can find a super clean one like ours and get in on the cheap, whatever expenses that follow may be worth the while.

1999 Audi A6 Avant

Great car, very reliable. Even at high mileage I've had minimal issues other than replacing a part here and there.

Audi-only wish I tried them sooner!
Pros

great price, fast, fun, a drivers dream

Cons

below average mpg, expensive maintenance.

I was looking for a change of vehicles mostly since I won't be driving as much nowadays. I decided on getting a used 2003 Audi A6 3.0 Quattro. Great looking in and out, powerful and fast, very fun to drive. Audi has a good rep and it gets alot of ohh's and ahh's!
