The A6 Allroad is much better if you simply consider it a wagon, trust us. Competitors are becoming increasingly rare, though direct rivals include the Volvo V90 Cross Country and the Mercedes-Benz E 450 4Matic All-Terrain. You could also consider Audi’s smaller A4 Allroad as a less expensive alternative, too.
Based on the same underpinnings as the A6 sedan, the A6 Allroad is motivated by a smooth turbocharged V6 in either one of the two available trim levels. These consist of the A6 Allroad Premium Plus and the A6 Allroad Prestige.
While it doesn’t come cheaply, the standard trim is loaded with many desirable comfort and tech features, not to mention a 5-passenger cabin that exudes class and sophistication.
2023 Audi A6 allroad pricing starts at $56,556 for the A6 allroad 55 TFSI Premium Plus Wagon 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $68,720 when new. The range-topping 2023 A6 allroad 55 TFSI Prestige Wagon 4D starts at $61,370 today, originally priced from $74,220.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. The prices here reflect what buyers are currently paying for used 2023 Audi A6 allroad models in typical condition when purchasing from a dealership. These prices are updated weekly.
There are very minimal changes between the 2022 and the 2023 model years of the A6 Allroad. That’s a relief, because the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and 7-speed automatic transmission provide effortless acceleration and exactly the type of performance you’d expect in this type of luxury vehicle.
An adaptive suspension is standard and helps keep the ride stable over any type of road condition. Combined with the A6 Allroad’s quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, it would take mountains of snow or hurricane-levels of rain to unsettle this Audi.
While it sits slightly higher than the A6 sedan, the A6 Allroad doesn’t have the high center of gravity that you get in a typical SUV. A high ride height might provide a commanding view of the road ahead, or make getting your drive-thru Big Mac order less of a reach, but it doesn’t often bode well for a sporty driving experience. The A6 Allroad provides a unique balance.
By riding a fine line between wagon-meets-SUV, the A6 Allroad delivers the utility of, well, a sport utility, along with the refined manners of a luxury sedan/wagon.
Quite simply, Audi is great at creating modern and comfortable cabins that remind you why its vehicles carry a premium price tag. The 2023 A6 Allroad is no exception.
Standard features include leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, the Virtual Cockpit digital display, power-operated front seats, tri-zone climate control, and Bang & Olufsen audio system. The infotainment system comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.
We think most A6 buyers will be happy stopping at the Premium Plus trim, though the Prestige does add extras such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, quad-zone climate control, a head-up instrument display, and soft-close doors.
Style is highly subjective, though you’d be hard pressed to not appreciate the A6 Allroad’s understated lines and handsome proportions. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the massive front grilles and angry-looking headlights found on many luxury SUVs.
Sitting a little more than an inch higher than the A6 sedan, the A6 Allroad maintains a planted look to it. A few go-anywhere touches like plastic cladding around the wheel arches and underbody skidplate lend a hint of SUV’ness, though in a tastefully restrained way.
All A6 Allroads come with 20-inch alloy wheels, and the optional Black Optic design package includes gloss black exterior trim, including black roof rails, and its own 20-inch turbine-style wheels. If you’re not a fan of body cladding, certain colors allow the A6 Allroad to be finished in one hue, without any contrasting body panels.
1. Virtual Cockpit
This fully digital display takes pride of place directly in front of the driver and replaces a traditional gauge layout. It’s configurable to match driver-programmable drive modes, and can project a wealth of information related to engine performance, or navigation commands with crystal-clear Google Maps images.
2. Bang & Olufsen audio
With the A6 Allroad, you have two choices of awesome audio systems developed by Denmark’s own Bang & Olufsen. The standard setup is a 19-speaker system that should please the most ardent music fans. In the Prestige trim, Audi offers the Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System. The price? A cool $4,900, along with the deletion of the spare tire.
3. Adaptive air suspension
The A6 Allroad is already perched 1.3 inches higher than the A6 sedan. If a little more clearance is needed, a simple push of a button raises the A6 Allroad an extra 1.2 inches to help traverse rougher terrain.
4. Dual-screen infotainment system and HVAC controls
The center of the A6 Allroad’s dash features two screens. The upper 10.1-inch screen is devoted to infotainment controls, while the lower 8.6-inch screen is there for heating and air conditioning commands. It looks great, but it can take some time to get the knack of where to press for a given command, especially while driving.
5. Cargo space
The A6 Allroad has car-like driving manners but it sure packs SUV-levels of cargo space behind its split-folding rear seat. With all five seats occupied the cargo hold measures 30 cubic feet in capacity. Jettison the rear passengers, then fold down the rear seatback, and the A6 Allroad has acres of space.
6. Full paint finish
The A6 Allroad exterior is notable for its added ride height and body cladding around each wheel. However, if you want to ditch these nods to SUV design, select colors allow an Audi shopper to have their A6 Allroad in one full color, minus any cladding.
All versions of the 2023 A6 Allroad come with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 coupled to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. One benefit of this mild-hybrid hardware is that it controls the car’s fuel-saving stop/start function, which is nearly imperceptible when you’re behind the wheel.
A 7-speed automatic transmission routes power to all four wheels via the standard quattro all-wheel-drive system. Premium fuel is recommended by Audi.

Side Assist and Audi Pre Sense Rear
Normally these would simply be called blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. They’re optional on the Premium Plus and standard on the Prestige trim.
Pre Sense Front
If the onboard sensors detect a crash is imminent, the system automatically closes the sunroof and any open windows. It also tightens the seatbelts to hold occupants firmly in place and activates the hazard lights.
Head-up display
Standard on the Prestige trim, this displays driving information directly in front of the driver’s forward vision. The customizable system can be positioned and adjusted for brightness. It’s a valuable aid in keeping the driver’s attention straight ahead, rather than a screen on the dashboard.
