Saleen S5S Raptor: Over 200 mph, Under $200,000

According to Saleen, a production version of the vehicle manufacturer/customizer’s latest supercar concept could be on the road in two years, cost a Honda Fit shy of $200,000, and go from zero to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of more than 200 mph. The story behind the speed is a supercharged 5.0-liter engine that puts out 650 horsepower, 630 pound-feet of torque and runs on ethanol. That green-tinged energy is sent through a six-speed manual or optional paddle-shifting sequential transmission. Accompanying the bright yellow paint is a set of 20-inch wheels with a carbon fiber finish, encircling big 15-inch brake rotors in front and 13-inchers at the rear.
