(Update, 5/4/2020: Mazda extends free oil change program. See details below)
Demonstrating appreciation for the nation’s healthcare workers, Mazda is offering free oil changes and enhanced cleaning of their vehicles. Notably, the service extends beyond Mazda owners. The offer is good for most makes and models from other brands, Mazda said.
The Essential Car Care program began April 16 nationwide at participating Mazda dealerships. The service is in partnership with Mazda’s dealer network with a minimum of $5 million behind the initiative.
“Supporting the communities where we live and work is rooted deeply in Mazda’s 100-year history. We are honored to give back to those dedicated to saving lives during this pandemic,” Mazda North American Operations President Jeff Guyton said. “We understand the important role vehicles play in people’s lives, and by partnering with our dealer network, we hope to make a meaningful impact in communities around the country.”
Mazda’s free oil-change for healthcare workers program comes from Mazda dealerships offering similar services at the local level. Mazda acted quickly to create a nationwide initiative.
Program details and eligibility
In addition to the oil change, the service includes enhanced vehicle cleaning of interior and exterior surfaces using Mazda and EPA-approved cleansers, the automaker said.
Set to expire May 4, the Mazda program continues through June 1, 2020. Active healthcare workers in U.S. medical facilities are eligible for the service. These facilities include hospitals, doctor offices, assisted-living and long-term care facilities, blood banks and medical equipment providers. A full list of eligible medical facilities is available at InsideMazda.com.
To confirm eligibility, healthcare workers must provide proof of their occupation, such as employment ID or a pay stub. The offer is good for one oil change within the program period. Contact local Mazda dealers to confirm their participation.
