Positive Review
Very comfortable, Good looking, handles well for a large car, glad I got the SH all wheel drive as it improves cornering substantially. Only negative is getting used to the tech package, but overall this car is an excellent value proposition. I would strongly recommend to a friend. Also like the safety features.
Critical Review
I was very excited for this refresh, but after driving it for a few months, it is disappointing. Once the newness wears off of the frilly digital cluster and new styling, you see this vehicle for what it really is: cheaply made junk. The automatic lift gate has malfunctioned 5 times since purchasing this vehicle over 3 months. It would beep and then just jerk and stop moving. Nothing would get it to open again except disconnecting the battery and trying again. The memory seating randomly reset several times which is annoying because the steering position is tied to the memory seating. I would take off out of my driveway and realize that something is not right and it turned out to be the seat and steering wheel out of position. All of the piano black trim is so cheap and tacky. It looks ok brand new but after living with it for a few months, you can see dust everywhere and fingerprints are all over it. The auto engine shut off is extremely annoying. In my toyota highlander, it only activates when you press the break really hard so in my usual driving it never activates. However, the auto engine feature in this car applies at ANY stop. This just ruins the lifetime of the starter\engine and of course the button to cut it off is in PIANO BLACK PLASTIC so it looks disgusting after a few days. Honda\Acura quality has really gone downhill and they are just banking on making people buy this for the flashy new looks and digital instrument cluster. The transmission is also horrible in this vehicle. It is constantly searching for the right gear at speeds under 55-60 mph. So many times I felt like the engine was misfiring, but in reality it was the poorly programmed transmission fishing for a gear.

Vehicle engine/transmission jerks while driving on flat grades. Dash and headliner is noisy/squeeks/rattling. Brakes squeal especially when backing up. Even with auto start off there is a considerable delay when pressing the accelerator to get out into traffic from a stop. I noticed lots of moisture getting into the storage area above the spare tire.

Build Quality, Touchpad with CarPlay
Pros: Styling, Seats, Stereo, Safety Scores, Headlights, Handling, AWD System Cons: Build Quality. TouchPad with CarPlay. Beautiful car to drive but I am so disappointed with the build quality of my 2024 MDX Advance. I had to bring it back to get misaligned trim corrected ("precision crafted is a total joke), and every time I drive it there are new squeaks, creaks, and rattles. The interior sounds like a cheap economy car over bumps and bad pavement. I do not know if I will be able to keep it much longer it is so frustrating. Acura build quality and QAQC is disgraceful!
Superb handling and driving dynamics.
I own a 2022 MDX tech package and I couldn’t be more happy. First, the driving and handling are superb. Second, the seats are super comfortable. Third, the space is more than enough for my needs and I love all the compartments , holders etc that make the ride very convenient. Fourth, if you drive it on a normal setting the gas mileage is amazing I get 18 to 19 per gallon on the regular commute and up to 23 on combine freeway and street. ( I only put the highest quality grade gasoline in my cars that makes a difference in how much gas you get and how clean is your engine) Fifth, if you use the sport speed the car flies and handles super well, even the exhausts make a different noise. Sixth, the surround system is awesome. Seventh, the navigation gives you great prompts and can display in for of you as well. Lastly, the blind spots and all other security has never failed for me. For reference I have only owned Honda Acura cars in my life. I had two Pilots and compared to the MDX they are very comparable in size and handling. I love my MDX and my lease is about to end and I will go get another one of these with all the improvements they have made for 2025. Love Honda
Four months into the driving and configuring my wife's new MDX (SH-AWD Advanced)… So far so good! Excellent finish and interior quality. The car feels solid and is very quiet inside. No rattles, no squeaks, the only abnormal sound I can hear is the jingling of the metal ring on the key fob laying in the door top pocket. Driving mode is easy to switch using large knob in the center console, no need to stop and drill into the menu options like on new Lexus RX. Sport mode eliminates any feelings of insufficient engine power (at expense of the gas mileage, that's for sure), no jerking transmission then either. With about 4000 miles on it, transmission feels silky smooth. The sound system is excellent! The infotainment system is fine - no finger smudges on the screen. BTW, the screen panel quality is way better than the one on new Lexus RX. High contrast, deep black, and no way to get sun glare anywhere near. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto – all work like a charm. Default Acura's navigation is actually not that far behind, giving the choice of seamlessly switching between at least 3 navigation systems at any time during the driving (Acura's, Apple/Google Maps, or Waze in my very modest setup). Engine stop/start is annoying, but there is a way to control it with the brake pedal pressure – light pressure prevents engine from shutting down. Not sure what those rich folks with $60k+ cars are complaining about gas mileage. It's not a city commuter's car. I'm seeing 27-28 mpg cruising on the highway. It doesn't require premium fuel, that's additional 20% fuel economy for you. Driver assist features are all good and very usable. I only don't get why would ACC (adaptive cruise control) need to be that sensitive and require periodic "proof of presence", literally makes me shake the steering wheel a bit every several minutes. I hope Acura will relax this "rule" with the future software update, …please.
A classy vehicle that looks great and drives great

This is a very good luxury SUV. We have had no issues with ours at all. Fun to drive and it gets reasonable mileage.
Pros: Good handling for a SUV with double wishbone. Comfortable for long drives. Generous features in general. Cons: One of the worst ever brakes I have ever seen in a vehicle. The brakes are super soft and cushy. It's an awful feel braking this vehicle. Service center dismissed that it's by design and there is nothing to repair. Worst ever fuel mileage for. Acura has clearly scammed the buyers and it never reaches EPA estimates. On a normal suburb driving in California, the car yields just 12-14 mpg. In freeways, it can go unto 22 mpg. Forget this car as a commute car. Touch Pad. Very bad tires. I had to replace tires in 4 months of my vehicle purchase. The Alena tires are very bad. lane keep assist and auto cruise are not that great. Auto steer will give off moment it sees a curvy road. No rear AC vents. This was not a surprise given we know when got the vehicle but it's bad design. Black piano plastics in interior and very uncomfortable seats in general. Some of the interior geometry doesn't look good and it looks weird once you get used to it.
Fun to drive. Awesome interior. Feels safe
Infotainment system. The only con I can really fi
Car performs extremely well. Handles well in all road conditions. Fuel economy is what is expected for a premium SUV.

The car was rare and difficult to get - but the wait was worth it. All the comfort and tech features work as advertised, the style and the interior 3 rows of seats are great. You will not be disappointed if you can get your hands on one.
