Positive Review
I enjoy driving this vehicle. I didn't think I would, my previous car was a Audi S4 and I needed something that would haul the family in and handle the Michigan winters. As much as I liked my Audi I didn't enjoying paying out the exorbitant maintenance costs - every time I would go into the dealer it would cost $300-$1k to fix the vehicle. My wife has a Honda Pilot with 150k miles on it and we've paid low maintenance cost so I expect similar value from the Acura. In summary, this SUV feels and handles like a sports sedan. It will tear up curves and has great acceleration. I've equipped mine with Blizzaks winter tires and have driven through several west Michigan snow storms and the MDX was solid and surefooted at speed. Only downer for me is 19mpg on premium, luckily I work out of my home office so it doesn't hit me as much as say someone who has to commute for their job.
Critical Review
I Bought 2 2010 MDX for my family. I have been having problems with the batteries on both vehicles. I been to my dealer half dozen times already, they claim that this problems been around for the past years on all 2010 Acura models and they can’t figure it out. Is anyone wrestling like I am with a system battery voltage low warning on a daily basis? Also I travel to Canada by car on a regular basis. Canadian Acura dealers refuse to honor manufactures warranty.

Comfortable with plenty of power
Battery problems
I love my 2009 Acura MDX but the problem I have is the battery keeps going dead. I have checked an I can’t find what is draining the battery
Didn't find my car through Kelley Blue Book but at least it gave me references. Many of the people we reached out to did not respond.
Reliable, comfortable, excellent all around!
Don't have any.
Excellent vehicle! Reliable, well built and just enough tech to not be overwhelming. Fantastic drivability, amazing handling and an overall fun, yet luxurious experience. Interior provides luxe seating for comfort and gorgeous wood grain details. Best car we have owned, checking all the boxes and then some. Easily able to accommodate children, families and individuals alike. 5 out of 5 stars, all around!
All
premium gasoline
The last sport looking MDX, premium build materials, top quality power train. five start safety standards. Honda and Toyota are the only brands making great value vehicles on the market.
Does almost everything well.
Gear ratios are a little wierd with this car.
The 2011/2012 Acura MDX is truly a car of its time. I can't think of any other SUV i've been in made from 2010 to 2012 that can match this car. It can do it all. It has a great AWD system, nice technology, very comfertable to be in, drives extremley well espeically for weighing over 4,000 pounds, and has plenty of power to it. It can toe some small to mid sized trailiers and smaller boats with no issue. Just recenlty sold ours, but it has 160,000 + miles on it and is still going strong. Only issue with the car was that it bured oil, but mysteriously you could not smell it burning oil at all. Only sign of it was it losing a quart of oil every month or two. Acura recalled this car due to that issue, and rellacing/fixing the piston rings in the engine seemed to fix the issue ever since.
Roomy
Poor mpg and awful 3rd row seating
While not the worst car I've driven this is far from the best. While the trunk space is great the third row seats area joke and can barley fit a child its so tight. On top of that MPG is horrendous avg. at 14.5 and 18 mpg if on a road trip. Lastly, repairs are very expensive and have ranged between 500 and 1500. If you don't drive much this may be the car for you however if you regularly commute be prepared for significant fuel expense.
Effective
None
Car is running. The windows are not opening. Need 2 tires. Need I headlights. Has more then 250000 miles.
Reliability, Handling, interior space, third row
none
I bought this vehicle in Dec 2021 when it had around 103,000 miles, and I've put right around 20,000 miles on it since then. I haven't had to anything for the vehicle besides tires and oil changes, which is great because I live in a rural area that requires me to drive 60+ miles round trip....dealing with snow and gravel/mud roads too on a regular basis. The car has taken everything I've thrown at it and responded positively. Besides the reliability, the car does not feel like a three row SUV when driving it. It handles well, big enough inside to fit pretty much anything you'd need, but it doesn't feel like you're driving a boat. It's pretty much impossible to not recommend this vehicle.
