Positive Review
I bought this '03 Acura CL new as a leftover in '04. It is the last 2 door coupe. I hadn't intended to buy this but it was love at first sight.I believe some cars have a soul & this girl truly does. She's quick, sleek & fun. The only negative is the transmission. I had to have it replaced & Michael at Acura USA pretended not to know of the obvious problems people have had. The small discs that separate the transmission discs come loose & plug the filter & the tranny fails. Other than that this car is really been great.
Critical Review
I am very surprised this car has so many good reviews. This car is known to have a very weak transmission. Mine just went out at 150,000 miles. It is going to cost me over $4000 to repair! If I fix it, I am just going to be putting the same terrible transmission in the car while waiting for it to fail again. This car was a very bad purchase. The car is going to have to be reposessed because I can't afford to fix it! Read some CL forums and see for yourself. This car is known for it's weak transmission and expensive cost to fix. BEWARE.

I am the second owner and i am going to miss her when shes gone. Immaculate clean leather loaded on the inside. Very few cosmetic spots like scratches. Brand new tires cold ac low miles 136k.
Quite engine, comfortable seats, large trunk space
Transmission issues 60K miles but warranty covered
OMG, this was my third Acura CL. The first one was, I believe the 99 model, much small and less attractive version of the CL. Then I purchase the 2002 CL in September 2001, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. Unfortunately, two months later a distracted driver came into my lane, I swerve to avoid getting hit, ran off the road and totaled my girl. I went right back to the dealership and bought the exact same car. 19-years later she is still running and I still love her. She is just beginning to nickle and dime me with little things, therefore, its time to get something else. I can truly say it has been a struggle to go shopping knowing it's not going to be an ACURA. Today I test drove a Mercedes Benz GLC and a GLA, definitely not at all impressed, and I would not purchase either. I also test drove the Infinity QX 50, Lexus 300NX, RX 350 and the UX both brands peaked my interest, but I am not in love as I was when I purchased my CL. I though I would be an Acura/Honda consumer forever. Unfortunately Honda has not come up with a beautiful looking car in the last 18-19 years for their Acura luxury line. There was the Legend, then there was the CL and now there is nothing attractive left in the brand. Honda's recent Accord sedan is beautiful and sleek, but I wanted to stay with Acura and get a SUV. I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA'S lack of attention to their luxury brand! That's spaceship style they adopted several years ago needs to go. I kept thinking it would be remedied before I was ready for a new car, but I was wrong. Lexus/Infinite here I come (sigh).

I've had the 3.2 CL for the last 12 years and have truly enjoyed driving it. For a 2001, Honda/Acura was ahead of it's time providing a lot of bells and whistles at that time that you didn't begin to see in other cars until years later. The car continues to drive great and still has a lot of juice left at 175k miles. The only problem I ever had was replacing the wiper blades motor around 100k but otherwise never had any issues. I think I will stick with Acura for life!
fast and reliable. great price and fun to drive
nothing really
This car has lasted me forever. i have ran through a fence, ran off of I-44 because i hit a deer and got out of the ditch on my own. i have had no problems with this car. it has been through so much in the last couple years Ive had it. paint isnt perfect but it surely has done a lot for me. most reliable car ever. im 21 now and its my first car, i bought it at 100,000 miles and it now at 192,000. it should be up there for around 3000 dollars if u ask me. i have put this car up for 4000 before to see what people would say about it. i got 5 offers for it in less than a month. that is pretty good. this is a really good first car and its so reliable. this car is the lesser value than the type s, and its still running strong and proud. im proud to be an Acura driver. i will never buy another brand of car unless its a 69 charger or a supra with a 2JZ motor in there.

I bought this one-owner car in 2003 from a local Acura dealer. It has been my incredibly reliable commuter car for over 13 years. This week it turned over 315,000 miles. The only significant issue I've ever had with it was a warranty replacement of the transmission at 96,000 when it locked up in 2nd gear. The 200,000+ miles since then have been a joy. I did have to replace the fuel pump once. I've put 3 timing belts in it - just following prescribed preventive maintenance. It consistently gets me 27/28 mpg - all country highway driving. In 13 years I've replaced a single tail light bulb. That gives you an idea how reliable this vehicle has been for me.
I just like it and it suits my driving needs.
It has all I need & more.
I bought my 2003 Acura CL from a top-notch local Acura dealer. I feel I got a bargain given I had little to spend on a car. I do not require a high-performance car or lots of bells and whistles given I do not drive much except for personal convenience not work. I have maintenance done by the superior car-dealer service. Maybe it costs more than a local garage, but I get the best care. I only have had to have basic services - oil change and tires rotated and balanced. I am not likely to sell this car until it totally fails!
I have owned this car since it was brand new, 13 yrs later She still runs perfect. The only issue I have had with this Car and every other CL owner can agree with Me on Is the faulty Transmission. It has gone on Me 4 times, But I must admit, Acura covered it every time. The last transmission was replaced 65,000 miles ago. I pray it doesent go again.
