The 2024 Hyundai Palisade is a well-rounded family SUV with excellent resale value and a class-leading warranty, and it can get pretty luxurious in the upper trims. Pricing starts at $38,045.
The Hyundai Palisade stands out in a crowded class of midsize 3-row SUVs, and we don’t just mean aesthetically. Its many strengths, like a class-leading warranty, a practical, upscale interior, and modern technology, make it one of the most appealing family SUVs on the market. The Palisade also has a Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Award to its credit.
The Hyundai Palisade competes with midsize SUVs like the Kia Telluride, Honda Pilot, and Ford Explorer.
The Hyundai Palisade got a thorough mid-cycle refresh for the 2023 model year, but there are still a few notable changes for 2024.
There’s a new Calligraphy Night Edition trim, which adds a dark appearance package and standard AWD. Dual automatic climate control is now standard on every trim, and the XRT model adds rear sunshades while the Limited trim adds standard ambient interior lighting.
The 2023 update included a styling refresh, an updated infotainment system, and a tow mode with AWD-equipped models. Also, the rugged XRT model joined the lineup.
The 2024 Hyundai Palisade has a starting sticker price of $38,045, with the range-topping Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition kicking off at $55,245. But Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing currently suggests paying $2,554 to $3,801 less than MSRP, depending on trim and equipment. These prices are updated weekly.

Before buying a Palisade, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. The Hyundai Palisade recently received our Best Resale Value Award for a 3-row midsize SUV.
The Hyundai Palisade is powered by a 291-horsepower V6 engine matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front- (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
In our experience, the Hyundai Palisade does an excellent job of providing a minivan-like driving experience in the form of an SUV. That’s not an insult — this is a comfortable family cruiser on city streets and highway road trips.
The standard V6 engine delivers satisfying thrust, and the transmission provides quick and smooth shifts. Since several of its rivals also have a V6 under the hood with similar specs, the performance is typical for this class. We found the handling, braking, and steering to be composed and confident for an SUV this size.
All-wheel drive is optional on the Palisade, giving it better traction on snowy roads, making it a good option for families in cold climates with harsh winters. We appreciate the inclusion of a tow mode on AWD-equipped models.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and evaluating the current collection of midsize SUVs, including this Hyundai Palisade.
The Hyundai Palisade gets a combined fuel economy rating of 22 mpg with FWD and 21 mpg with AWD. These fuel economy ratings are about average for this class.
The inside of the Hyundai Palisade feels like a more expensive SUV. The interior design is upscale, the materials are lovely, and the seats are comfortable. We love the optional Ergo-motion driver’s seat derived from the Genesis luxury brand. It’s a specially designed seat with air cells inside for enhanced support that noticeably improves comfort.
The Palisade can seat up to eight people, which drops to seven if you opt for second-row captain’s chairs. Captain’s chairs make the second row more comfortable and the third row easier to access.
We found the second row roomy and adult-friendly, with above-average legroom of 42.4 inches. The third row offers 31.4 inches of legroom, which is about average for an SUV this size.
The Palisade boasts a vast cargo hold when all of the rear seats are folded down. It has up to 86.4 cubic feet of maximum cargo space, and if you fold down just the third row, there’s 45.8 cubic feet of room behind the second-row seats. We found it easy to load and unload thanks to a wide rear opening, and we appreciate the under-floor storage compartment.
The cargo space behind the third row is 18 cubic feet, which is less than its corporate cousin. The mechanically similar Kia Telluride has 21 cubic feet of cargo room when all seats are in place.
The Palisade is bookended by a big grille that’s menacing and flashy at once, and distinctively styled taillights. In between, it carries the hallmarks of a sizeable, properly proportioned 3-row midsize SUV.
Roomy 3-row seating
The Hyundai Palisade has spacious and comfortable seating for up to eight people. Available second-row captain’s chairs improve comfort for your passengers while making the third row more accessible.
Standard 12.3-inch display
We love seeing this rich and user-friendly display come standard on every trim of the Palisade. It’s easy to use and loaded with features like navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and more.
Hyundai SmartSense
This standard suite of safety tech includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and much more.
Highway Driving Assist
This semi-autonomous driving system combines features like adaptive cruise control and lane centering to make highway driving safer and more relaxed. The available Highway Driving Assist II system can automatically change your speed based on GPS and highway data.
Luxurious upper trims
The Limited and Calligraphy trims push the Palisade into luxury territory. Features on both include the Highway Driving Assist II system, leather seating, heated second- and third-row seats, and a color head-up display. The Calligraphy model adds Nappa leather seats, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and the Ergo-motion driver’s seat.
Remote Smart Parking Assist
With this available tech feature, you can remotely park or exit a parking spot from outside the vehicle using the key fob.
The Hyundai Palisade is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, rated at 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the front or all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It returns a combined fuel economy rating of 22 mpg with FWD and 21 mpg with AWD. These performance numbers and fuel economy ratings are all typical of the class.
The Hyundai Palisade is tied with the Kia Telluride for the best warranty in its class. It’s backed by a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Hyundai also throws in a 3-year/36,000-mile complimentary maintenance plan.
The Hyundai Palisade has a proven track record for safety as a recipient of the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award and a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA. Its good safety scores come from favorable crash test ratings and many standard safety features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
The 2024 Hyundai Palisade is in the top 11-25% for Cost to Own among all Mid-size SUV/Crossovers.

Adaptive cruise control has become pretty common, but in the Palisade, it uses navigation data to adjust your speed for upcoming curves if necessary.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
The Palisade can automatically apply the brakes if it detects a potential accident with forward collision-avoidance assist and available rear collision-avoidance assist.
